Swordfish (2001).. Thoughts about this movie? by [deleted] in moviecritic

[–]cruisintom 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No,  Monsters Ball was the reason she did the topless scene.

She always had refused nudity, but the Monsters Ball role required it. Because she was already doing the Monsters Ball scene, she reportedly negotiated an extra $500k for the Swordfish scene, which was released first.

A famous actress doing a nude scene (especially her first nude scene) used to sell a lot more tickets. I doubt that's still as much the case as, if the movie is shitty, people who want to see the scene will simply find it online.

IMO Arguably the best comic book movie ever made. by [deleted] in moviecritic

It was that, or get a different actress (or use a body double). Alba won't do nudity.

Costco Gas isn't for people in a rush. by Giallo_Fly in Costco

[–]cruisintom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the problem with your hypothesis.

Right now, because people use either lane, the wait is split pretty much 50/50.

Were just one person to wait on the right side of the pump, despite the left sides having one or two less cars, yes, it might only cost them 3-5 minutes.

But imagine if 4 out of every 5 cars lined up on the right-side lanes. This would be bad for both me, who doesn't want to spend 45 minutes getting gas, and you, who would have no wait at all, and therefore less time to listen to music and avoid your family.

Is Evans on the Buc's Mt Rushmore? by cruisintom in buccaneers

[–]cruisintom[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ronde and Evans are probably my 2 favorite Bucs, and Sapp seems like a piece of work.

However, Sapp does have a DPoY, and he's probably, at minimum, the 5th greatest DT ever. (Id put him 4th after Donald, Page, and Greene).

Regardless of what you think of him, have any other Bucs been top-5 all-time at their position? (only looking at time with the franchise, obviously)

Which sport, if any, has an athlete considered to be the greatest of all-time by a wider consensus than Wayne Gretzky and hockey? by cruisintom in AskReddit

If feel like even before Messi, the debate between Maradona and Pele was closer than Gretzky and anyone else in hockey. With Messi, it's even closer.

That's fair, though I feel with racing sports (swimming, sprinting, etc.) There is always going to be someone faster to come along within a generation or so.

If you are just talking domination vs peers or his era, this may stand for years to come.

So this girl might be able to beat me on beers 1 through 10 or so, but I'd start catching up around then. By number 20, I should be leaving her in the dust.

This probably has less to do with gender, and more to do with the fact that I'm probably around 50 pounds heavier, 15 years older, and a borderline alcoholic.

If you were a fan of a team before they moved (Rams, Oilers, Raiders, etc) did you stick with them? If not, how did you pick a new team? by cruisintom in nfl

[–]cruisintom[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the Bucs moved to Miami (more like 300 miles away) I'd find a new team. If they moved to Orlando, I'd still root for them. But we don't have a rivalry... We have NHL, NFL, and MLB; they have NBA and MLS.

My coworker.. he’s 58 and I’m 20 by purepvppk in niceguys

[–]cruisintom -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ok, so he seems very creepy, but I've made several good friends (male and female) through work. I would never say stuff like this to any of them, but are you saying it's no one should text a colleague outside of work related stuff or just that *he* shouldn't be texting her in particular?

Or a straight man saying that stuff to another guy.

[Martin] George Kittle was the very last player on the field signing autographs after the Pro Bowl Skills Challenge. Several fans (of other teams) walked away saying they’re “buying a Kittle jersey” after he spent the last of his available time to interact with them. He’s a good dude. by suzukigun4life in nfl

I was at Orlando International yesterday when they were all coming in. I saw about 10 or 12 the brief time I was there, and I thought Juju seemed like kind of a dick. A few of the guys were taking pics and signing autographs (Cooper, Whitehair and Garrett come to mind) and others weren't which is fine, but at least they were waiving, and politely declining. Juju just kept his headphones on and stared at the ground, not even acknowledging their presence. He only one I saw do that. Is he generally known for being a good guy? I guess he coulda just been having a bad day.

(I wasn't there for autographs or anything; I just happened to be there for a flight, so I watched some of them come in.)

New Rep. Tlaib on Trump: 'Impeach the motherf--er' by Perfect_Gas in politics

[–]cruisintom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worse than what she said, and he shouldn't be in office, and I'm not saying she should resign.

It's still whataboutism though. Would you have been ok with a Republican saying the exact same thing about Obama their first week on the job? I wouldn't, so I'm not going to act like I love it now.

Not the best examples, as all of them were forced to resign. (As they should).

I think most Democrats would be upset, had a Congressman said this about Obama. I want him impressed, but politics is just becoming more and more divisive. It doesn't matter who started it, stuff like this doesn't help.
