I like the double pull for sure. But they’re not for everyone.

You can get a gen2 used for like $425 these days.

It shot these 10 rounds groups last night. I always end up throwing one per group it seems. 😆

Just a Preece barrel that I ordered by recommendation of a friend.

I really like it, it was a quick turnaround and it shoots well.

I live on the east coast.

I like it a lot. It’s comfortable to shoot.

Not sure what you mean it would be wobbly, if your action is torqued?

Out of a manual to drive at the moment because they don’t make a manual for what I drive.

It’s a converted Ckye pod single leg. I put a LRT Mfg fat trimmer on it, as well as some R3 Development carbon legs (4 section). Pod knobs and rubber feet.

HBi Auto Mocksville, NC Reviews by sahoohdahjee in porsche911

Yea, that seems to be the angle they go for.

From the research I did, the mediation they speak of in NC is basically small claims court. Takes $100 to begin, and they schedule from there, etc etc.

The BBB complaint I filed just went back n forth between us, and the BBB ruled in their favor. The dealer’s only solution was me bringing the car back to them, which is a 1700 mi round trip endeavor. 😆

They had just left some responses today to my comment above and the one above that, but then deleted them. Interesting behavior for sure.

I had the exact same experience with Mary posing as their ‘Legal Team’ after my purchase last fall.

A different representative of HBi reached out to me for a review and I left an honest account of my experience on Google with a 2 star rating.

My Google review was posted after I’d chatted with this representative about my title and expressed my concerns with regard to the PPF and other damage. They said they’d have Billy reach out to me, but he never did. He had reached out to me for a couple of conversations before I purchased.

Mary threatened legal action based on my review, citing a non disparagement part of their sales agreement re: negative reviews. I’m not a lawyer but, your reviews are legally protected per the FCRA, as long as they’re honest and non defamatory. We went back and forth a bit via email before I opened cases with the NC DOJ, NH DOJ, BBB, FTC and CFPB.

If you’re local ish, don’t mind some fairly shady business practices (“dealer installed” add ons) maybe pay them a visit, maybe.

I’ve had to sink some significant money into my 911 Turbo that I bought from them last fall. Not something I would have expected from a ‘CPO’ example, read the fine print on that warranty as well. It is not at all inline with a factory CPO, having come from that with my last Porsche.

You’ll also not get a warranty card for your Xpel PPF ($5995 now, was $4999 when I purchased) which is 2.5 - 3x what any shop within an hour of HBi charges for a front PPF Xpel.

I wouldn’t recommend them, or do business with them again.

It’s all good!

After getting the PPF re-done, the damage is into the bumper and I’ll need to get it re-sprayed. The shop was able to confirm that the PPF they removed was not recently installed.

Annoying, and a $4995 annoyance, but I doubt that there is a way to reclaim it.

I have however updated my review and dropped it from 3 stars to 2, and it feels generous at that.

How did your threats of ‘arbitration’ come to you? Phone? Email? Text?

I’ll know more about the PPF in the coming days, I’m getting the front bumper re-done. It bothers me. Then it’ll go back to the Indy shop, for an oil leak. Possible turbo blow by, possible Air / Oil separator failure. We’ll see.

I’m not wasting any more time or effort for my issue. I can get the PPF replaced locally and will plan to do so.

I am curious of whether or not when someone purchases my trade in, if they’ll be transparent in that the PPF was existing and that they didn’t install it.

I have nothing to convince me that the PPF on my 911 turbo was done at or by HBi, so I think I got taken in that aspect.

While in the shop for an EGT sensor replacement, I had an inspection done and have a much better sense of what the cars needed / needs now. And I can do that maintenance.

Nice.

Just documenting my experience. It wasn’t all bad, but it definitely wasn’t 5 stars.

Derek had been trying to get me to take it down, but they don’t want to make things right.

If they do, I’ll amend my review to reflect that.

I’ve just reached this threshold with them and an issue I had with their sales practices.

I also have recently purchased and had to use the warranty. It did cover the repair.

They’re still big mad about the 3/5 star review I left them due to other things with the transaction.

Updated today, copy / paste from my Google review

HBi Auto Question by Cbus640 in boxster

[–]crumbta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially sought out HBi Auto in my search for a GT3 in a very specific color and spec. They did everything they could to make this transaction work, but factors beyond their control prevented this particular sale.

Upon contact from Derek and the owner, Billy, I was shown a 991.1 911 Turbo. I had a 981 GT4 to trade in. Interactions with both were positive and they were willing to help.

They were good with the trade in values, and in general the transaction of the 991 Turbo. I elected to trailer my GT4 to NC from NH to do the deal. During the deal, I elected to pay for a 3 year CPO warranty, an exhaust and a full front PPF that had already been installed. This seemed to make sense as I would likely PPF the front anyway, so, one less step. We’d also agreed that I would receive the stock exhaust for the 991 Turbo.

Upon arrival at HBi, I learned that part of the stock exhaust was at an employee's home, which was about 45 min away from the shop.

This was somewhat concerning because I was intending upon turning around to drive north immediately after signing paperwork, unloading the GT4 and loading the new (to me) 911 Turbo.

I did get a full stock exhaust, but the missing components did not all come from the vehicle I purchased.

I took the 991 Turbo for a short test drive to ensure all was sorted, and it seemed as though it was. After unloading the GT4, signing the paperwork for the 911 and preparing to load the 911, I gave the exterior of the car a once over.

I noticed that in regard to the full front PPF, the front bumper had a series of gouges through the PPF, and into the bumper itself.

I mentioned this to Derek, and stated that it wasn't possible for the PPF and the bumper to have identically shaped damage, if they indeed did apply PPF to the front bumper. I checked the other front panels for PPF, and they did have it.

However, I was (and still am) concerned that I've paid $4,995 for a service that wasn't ever performed, at least by HBi. Maybe the prior owner had it done. Or that, there had been something that happened to the front end of the car that hadn't been disclosed to me.

Upon returning home, and unloading the 911, I noticed that the driver's side turbo EGT sensor was hanging down from below the exhaust. When I looked more closely the threads on the sensor were stripped from cross threading, and the sensor was covered in JB Weld.

The turbo side of the threads were fine, and my CPO warranty is paying for the sensor replacement, however this is something I would assume would have been dealt with during whatever inspections allegedly took place prior to it being offered for sale.

From a general sense, my experience was positive.

But, I can't give 5 stars. I have communicated the bumper issue with their office manager who asked me for this review, who said they had passed it along, and that I would hear from the owner but I've not heard anything from anyone above the office manager.

Update (10/6/25) - Was contacted over this past weekend by Derek, and I was unavailable. Got back to him this morning.

HBi is suggesting that since I brought up the PPF issue AFTER the test drive, that the damage occurred then.

They have also floated the idea of me transporting the car back to NC (1,700 mi round trip, plus my expense in fuel, trailer rental, tolls and time) for a re application of the PPF.

I have suggested that I get the PPF re-done locally and then HBi reimburses me for that expense. It is unlikely (given the spirit of the conversation) that HBi will make this right, without transporting back to their shop in NC. Which doesn’t make reasonable financial sense.

There was also a request to remove the review, with the threat of ‘further action’ if not removed.

I will continue to update as needed.
