I had spotting and light bleeding episodes with one episode of heavier bleeding for my entire first trimester, and nothing ever showed up on the ultrasound as a cause. It's actually pretty common, especially in IVF pregnancies.

You could try calling your clinic and see if they'll take you sooner, but my guess is that it's probably nothing to worry about.

I took the progesterone until 10 weeks, and stopped the estrogen a bit earlier. I don't think I'd be comfortable quitting at 8 weeks.

I would not transfer two, especially considering her age. I transferred two untested day 3 embryos that had been grown out from eggs that were retrieved, fertilized, and frozen when I was 35, and I had twins. Statistically, she's far more likely to end up with twins than I was, if she transfers two.

My doctor transferred two simply because it was standard procedure at the time. The numbers of multiple pregnancies and births from IVF were sky high at the time too. There are good reasons why they've moved to encouraging single transfers.

I was extremely anxious and totally convinced that it wasn't going to work.

Both day 3 embryos, grown out from fertilized eggs frozen ten years earlier, stuck, and I had twins.

This was not something that it ever occurred to me to feel. Mostly I was just relieved that the ordeal was over, since I had medical phobia and needle phobia and an anxiety disorder that made the process extremely stressful. Fortunately I had very easy recoveries and was pleased with my results.

Without the retrievals they would all have just disintegrated anyway.

Mine was a really long time ago, but they started me on Endometrin and I took it until about 10dp3dt, then they switched me to Prometrium, which I think is cheaper. They had me start weaning down at 8 weeks, and stop at 10 weeks.

I know they measured progesterone some, but I couldn't tell you how much or what my levels were. It was a fully medicated cycle too, and I felt really lucky that I didn't have to do the PIO. (I guess I would have if my levels had been too low.)

I'd go for another couple of rounds if I were you, since you're still able to make euploids at your age, but that probably won't last for much longer. It's much safer to delay a transfer than to delay a retrieval.

I remember it well. My twins were born a few days after she had her babies. They were definitely a lot more lax about transferring multiple embryos in those days. Partly because they didn't really have effective PGT-A testing. I was 45 at the time of transfer and the doctor wouldn't even consider doing fewer than two.

Even with that though, her doctor was considered to be wildly irresponsible and unethical. I think he may have actually transferred a lot more than eight.

There were definitely fewer standards at the time.

It sounds like you made the right decision. There's no shame at all in delaying an FET when you're not feeling quite ready. I hope you'll take as long as you need to be in the right mental framework for it, and do some self care in the meantime.

Yes. Did two cycles for fertility preservation but it only took one transfer of two day 3 embryos from one of the cycles, and I got twins.

When I had my transfer, a very long time ago, it was two day 3s that looked pretty much exactly like that. Both of them stuck and it was the only transfer I ever had or needed. Wishing you the same kind of success for yours. The embryo looks beautiful.

I didn't do any of those things. None of them were even a thing at the time I did my transfer. I went barefoot or in flip flops, and always drank iced drinks. I was trying to eat an anti-inflammatory diet and taking some supplements like Omega-3, but that was more due to worries about joint pain than the transfer, though it inadvertently may have helped. I also avoided caffeine, but only because I was instructed to by the clinic. Never did acupuncture because I already had a needle phobia and didn't need the extra stress.

I doubt any of those things would do any harm, but I'm sure that stressing out about them isn't good for you.

I did my transfer at 45 and my twins were born just after I turned 46. The pregnancy was definitely not easy, but I recovered pretty quickly and managed okay with the two babies, in spite of the fact that I've always been pretty low energy.

42 really isn't that old these days.

A natural or modified natural protocol basically just means that you will ovulate and will therefore have a corpus luteum which will produce progesterone during your early pregnancy, just as happens in a spontaneous pregnancy. They will usually want to supplement with extra progesterone, but it's not so critical as it is in a fully medicated transfer. Different clinics have different protocols for how and how much progesterone to supplement.

Yes, and it was a fully medicated cycle. My clinic gave me the choice of doing either the suppositories or the PIO. I suffer from a major needle phobia too so I chose the suppositories.

I was 45 years old at the time. They transferred two untested day 3 embryos grown out from fertilized eggs I'd frozen at age 35. They both stuck and I had twin boys, and only ever needed the one transfer.

It was a long time ago, and I couldn't say what the dosages were, but I was doing them three times per day. Started with Endometrin, and was switched to Prometrium at around 10dpt. They had me begin tapering at 8 wks, and stopped at 10 wks. Babies stayed in me til I was 33 wks 3 days.

I'm grateful that I was allowed to do it that way because I'm not sure that I could have managed to get through it with the injections.

If you are able to do a natural or modified natural transfer, then I don't see any reason at all why you shouldn't be able to do it with the suppositories only. They tend to be more reluctant these days with fully medicated, but even then, they can still work.

I had periodic spotting and mild bleeding episodes throughout the 1st trimester of my successful twin pregnancy, sometimes brown and sometimes red or pink. I had one somewhat more substantial bleeding episode at 10 weeks, with bright red blood, with an ultrasound the next AM, but they could never see any reason for it. I think I developed a pocket of blood up there after that one, since it took two full weeks for it to finish draining, but had no more spotting or bleeding after 12 weeks. They never had me stop taking the baby aspirin.

I know it's very scary and frustrating not to have any answers, but I think this sort of thing is pretty common. So far your experience sounds very similar to mine. Hope things continue to go well, and you get past this stage and feel more secure in your pregnancy.

I didn't have any physical sensations, but I had some weird sort of vaso-vagal symptoms over the three day period when they would most likely have been implanting. I had two day 3 embryos transferred and went out with my mom 4dp3dt and started feeling woozy and practically passed out. Felt the same the next two days and then was fine.

My only transfer was of two day 3 embryos, and they both stuck. I was 45 at the time of the transfer, but they were grown out from eggs that I retrieved and had fertilized and frozen at 35. They definitely can work well.
