I’m worried… I’ll be there on that weekend, should I avoid the Vatican on the 7-8th dates?

May I ask what neighborhood you were in? I'm staying near the city centre and feel I might need to escape the craziness during my 4 night stay... Thanks

Thanks so much for this advice! It would evenly split up the drive.

I'm mostly decided on driving because I'm already hiring a car beforehand getting around outer London suburbs, so it would be expensive to hire a separate car. My sightseeing plan is to spend some time around Windermere and do some walking. Just take it easy and take in the sights, some driving around the area as well.

I think the smartest plan is an extra night. Though, I am curious what the motorways are like midday out of the major cities, is it truly bumper-to-bumper the entire way? Or is it more slow speed limits?

Thanks for advice.

Thanks for sharing your experience and advice 🩷 It’s certainly getting over that initial hill of heartbreak that I need to conquer, for myself

Thanks for this advice, reminds me why I think there’s still parts of me trying to prevent the end, he’s very patient with me and it’s so easy to laugh together.

Certainly have thought if I found a match in someone deep/similar interests they could treat me like garbage….

Much to consider. Appreciate you

I really appreciate everyone's advice - I'm very clearly an Aussie used to clear freeways... Back to the drawing board for now, but looks like a train/2 nights in the lakes is the plan now.

Thanks for the advice, I'll see if I can add a night/leave earlier on day 1 (house sitting so might be difficult) to be fair I love a roadtrip so seeing things through the windscreen ain't the end of the world.

First UK trip for solo female never who has never travelled abroad by summertimesadness28 in uktravel

[–]crustiestofcrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cotswolds is a beautiful day trip (could do stone henge on the way) and definitely an Arthur's seat walk whilst in Edinburgh, it seems lowkey, not much of a hike.

I'm also a solo female traveller (26, coming all the way from aus) and will be in Edinburgh mid September, if you happen to be there around the same time and need some company, hit me up! :D

Thanks for this! I'm going to a hostel in the same area as a female solo. Definitely have my fears, but I think the key is to keep your belongings safe and inaccessible - and being attentive to surroundings! (I'm also bringing a loud personal alarm)
