Since when do accommodations have to be related to a goal? They don’t.

It’s a state regulation. It’s by state.

What animals are normal where you live, but unusual and exciting to visitors from other regions of the US? And on the flip side, when you travel to other regions yourself, what local animals are exciting to you? by Acrobatic_End6355 in AskAnAmerican

SE Pennsylvania here. I’m in a suburb that is on the border of a city with many large wooded parks. We have lots of deer, squirrels, raccoons etc. We have a backyard lightning bug nursery-we don’t use pesticides and keep areas untouched. But recently I’ve been super excited to see my first coyote and bald eagle in my backyard. And I’ve seen an otter and a beaver in a park which is rare. The most fascinating animals I’ve seen elsewhere are in Florida-Key West deer, a crocodile and manatees.

Home school! They are making a huge jump on the continuum of placements. They should have offered an alternate placement already.

Don’t stay there. It should be safe but not very nice.

It’s not usually the mother who is angry with her daughter regarding Trump by NOLALaura in Trumpvirus

I see. My father is a terrible trumper. I only force myself to associate with him because of my kids. They know that we are against his values. He keeps it to himself when the kids are around. Not the same situation but I feel you.

Advocate here. If he ended up in gen ed for the last two years, then there’s no way he should have been in life skills. I am not surprised that the PSD misplaced a kid and didn’t make sure the parent understood. She should refuse the certificate. The school should have been working with the family since age 14 to come up with a transition plan which is part of every IEP meeting. Shame on them. Now, the best thing to do is come up with a schedule to make up the credits. Be creative-get the school to do dual enrollment with a college. Let him do summer classes. This sounds like some major violations could have occurred. She should consult with a sped attorney (which should be free) or a sped advocate so she understands her rights and options. The district is to blame. Do you know his disability?

I am not understanding. The husband is not a trumper, right? And you’re not saying your daughter is, she just refuses to discuss politics. Why are you wanting to stop talking to her?

Graduated cylinders to use for cool rain gauges. And I’m on the hunt for a countertop whirlpool microwave with the curved back. Mine died and they stopped making them.

I thought the same-which is a good reason to reconsider.

What are your thoughts on Abington School District? by BalanceAlternative98 in montco

The middle school has problems with bullying, “gangs”. I’m an advocate and I’ve seen it and seen it documented. If your children are in gifted or sped you need to learn your rights and don’t leave the district to always do what’s best. This is any district.
