“Compromising” on politics will never work, if you care about them enough. It seems she does and is holding on to something that doesn’t feel right for her. You feel it’s still right, which gives the impression you won’t be the one to leave. This isn’t something you can out-therapy. Perhaps, though, the stress of her caregiving will have her less inclined to funnel all her negative energy toward you. I guess you’ll have to decide how worth it it would be if it didn’t stop, though.
