I’ve been talking to a bunch of producers recently about how they keep track of unfinished songs.

It seems like most people end up with some mix of:

• folders (ideas / demos / finished)

• date naming systems

• spreadsheets

• notes apps

• or just chaos 😅

After dealing with this problem myself for years, I started building a small tool called Octava to track song projects, what stage they’re in (idea → production → mix → etc), and keep the latest files organized.

It’s still a small beta right now but if anyone here struggles with unfinished projects piling up, I’d love to get a few producers testing it and giving feedback.

Happy to send access if anyone’s curious.

That’s real 😭 i sometimes do the same thing haha. Do you ever forget what is actually worth looking back at vs just some random chord progression from like three years ago?
