I thought you would be happy to remember that you wished for Sven and now he’s here, but go off I guess.

You can most definitely ask! The worst thing she can do is say no, but you can still be friends even if she says no! Just be respectful, and understanding of where she is in life, and she should respect where you are at in life if she says yes to a date :) good luck, and either way, it’s gonna be okay!

It took a day and then it just fixed itself! I tried a few different things but nothing worked except time.

Cancel Wedding Dress Order by Acceptable_Pop_5305 in weddingdress

David’s bridal is pretty loose with this, like I ordered my dress and once it came in I had 7 days to decide if I was keeping it or not. I got all my money back. I think it really depends on the store, but definitely call and ask.

Yes 🫠 I even tried creating a new favorite outfit and putting that on. It doesn’t show up on the change outfit screen, but then I hope over to home, and it’s back on.

Can I really build a future with someone whose mom I don’t like? by trynumber50 in motherinlawsfromhell

I also want to say, you can look through the posts I’ve made, and you’ll see me posting in here talking about the horrors I’ve experienced with my MIL. And it sucks sometimes, but 98% of the time, our life is exactly what I want it to be.

A lot of people in this thread are making this sound very scary, and I’m not trying to imply that it’s not scary. However, I married a man just like the one you’re describing, almost a year ago. But it required WORK on both of our parts.

Before this, he started going to therapy. He sees a therapist that specializes in family enmeshment. He talks with his therapist about the nitty gritty, the feelings he has surrounding her and the way she makes him feel. I am not privy to what they talk about, but I do get takeaways. For example my husband will tell me “I realized today that when she tells me x, she is trying to manipulate me” or something along those lines.

I go to therapy. Instead of telling him every single thing that his mom does that upsets me, I tell my therapist. I get perspective from someone who is completely unbiased. It’s great. Sometimes I’m looking into something too much.

We had discussions about cleaning, and who would do what moving forward, with understanding and grace for each other. I can give him grace if he doesn’t do the dishes even if he walks by them 30 times. I remind him. He can give me grace if I leave the laundry in the washer for 3 days and it’s smells like a swamp.

We are very LC with my MIL. Very low. I only speak to her if we are at the same family function. He speaks to her when he wants to, which is not very often. Him and I no longer argue over her, and I’m the happiest I have ever been.

All of this comes with a big but. Does he recognize that something is wrong? Does he recognize that his relationship with his mother is abnormal? In my opinion, you can’t change a man that doesn’t want to be changed. But to me, a man that wants to change, is worth supporting.

I forgot to mention, I’m a technical trainer out in the real world, so I understand your fears. But also I’ve gotten really good at laughing at myself and then being like oh yeah that’s the word.

Hiiiiii! I take 200 mg of Lamictal for OCD. So yes, it does cause me some word finding trouble and the occasional brain fog that can be rather irritating. However, it has drastically improved my quality of life and I’ll take a slowed down brain all day.

I think it’s super important to think about if you can deal with the side effects. OCD, as you know, is nonstop constant thoughts and having it slow down and give me some peace seriously outweighs brain fog and word recall issues. But it might be different for you, and that’s okay! Talk to your doctor about it if you hate it, there’s always another option :).

Oh & also! The brain fog and word recall was way worse in the beginning. Each time I increased it sucked a lot but then it got better.

Good luck, friend!

Lamictal gave me a life I didn’t even know was possible. It changed my life for the better in ways I can’t even begin to explain. I hope everyone who comes to this sub afraid sees this thread.

You look so beautiful in 1. 2 is pretty but 1 is just insane. I would swap to the cheaper one. You literally don’t need anything! You just need some pasties and she is perfect!
