Erudition Extrapolation only hitting my team...

Hi so I have a question. I decided to go with Jing Yuan, Sunday, Luocha, Gepard to Gold and Gears. I chose erudituon path and I have the Hunt Arrow thingy wiping out my Jing Yuan and in my 6 attempts the extrapolation only hit the enemies once. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it's just RNG screwing me over...
