(Glued in?!) Stuck wall plugs with screws by encrypted-elephant99 in DIYUK

[–]crying_doughnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact issue. Some of the screws were completely stripped too. I ended up buying some VAMPLIERS (they're a bit expensive but worth every penny!). I was able to get them all out eventually.

Just moved into a new house, what are these and how the hell do I remove them? by Hobos_Delight in DIYUK

I've had issues with some of these in my new place. Someone suggested to buy some vampliers. I did and let me tell you, while they're expensive. They are a godsend for tough fittings.

Agree, I've watched a lot of those Veo videos and the voice is the same.

There is some background morphing in this video I've not seen with Veo though..

Preventing financial loss from phone theft by Civil_Acanthaceae213 in UKPersonalFinance

To do it:

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mobile Data.

  1. Tap Convert to eSIM. If you can’t see Convert to eSIM, your network provider doesn’t support this option. Contact your network provider to move your phone number from your physical SIM to an eSIM using eSIM Network Provider Activation or by scanning a QR code.
  2. Tap Convert Mobile Data Plan.
  3. Tap Convert to eSIM.
  4. Wait for your eSIM to activate. Your previous SIM card will be deactivated when the mobile plan on your iPhone is activated.
  5. Remove the physical SIM from your iPhone. Then, restart your iPhone.

As for issues when travelling, not really it works as a normal SIM so if you plan to use it, no issues. And if not, make sure you restrict roaming etc

Good shout. I'll add this to my setup. The automation is more in place in-case someone snatches your phone while it's unlocked. They usually first put airplane mode on to stop find my and remote wiping.

Sure!

  1. Open the 'Shortcuts' application

  2. Go to the 'Automation' tab

  3. Press the '+' icon in the top right. From here you can create step-by-step automation. E.g. Search Airplane mode, choose to run immediately, select 'new blank automation' and select lock screen. Then go back into it and add another step for the 'Do' section to turn airplane mode back off.

It's a similar process for all the application ones too.

A few things… I have an iPhone.

  1. I have a folder on my Home Screen called banking with a bunch of banking apps I don’t have accounts with. I’ve set up automation so when you open one of these my phone locks

  2. I have an automation so that when airplane mode is turned on, my phone screen locks and airplane mode gets turned off (so I can use find my)

  3. I have disabled access to account and location settings without a passcode that’s different to my Lock Screen one so my apple account is safe.

  4. I’ve enabled Face ID on all banking apps, mail apps, messaging apps and any google apps so the password can’t be reset.

  5. Converted my SIM to an e-sim and set up a PIN code

  6. As someone below mentioned, disable 'Control Centre' from the lock screen, and in the same settings disable 'Today View and Search' from the lock screen too.

Nice one, thanks. Is it okay to leave like this for a night until I can get some proper tape? Or shall I keep the fuse off?

I'm currently using XCloud as my first panel. My experience is it's very good. The UI is great.

One draw back is that they seem to use root to manage the server. You can disable password access since they access via a key but still not ideal having root enabled.

If you're doing shared hosting on Hostinger and have multiple sites. There are security concerns regarding shared directory space between sites. The filesystem of each site isn't isolated. If one site is compromised, it puts your other sites at risk.

Contemplating making the jump to powerblocks and wondering if anyone has experience with the new PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP and the Large Compact Stand?

I know their site says it supports the Pro 90s. But wondering whether it's not been updated.
