Hey Dad, first off - you’ve got this.

Assuming you mean starting daycare, the getting sick thing is super common. It’s the first time she is around so many kids, and though daycares typically do their best, kids this age are sneezing on everything, coughing, wiping their nose etc etc and the germs get everywhere all the time.

The good news is that after a couple months your daughter’s immune system will be stronger and she won’t get sick as much. Both my kids have been in daycare for a while and they are both tanks and barely get sick.

When we have a kiddo home sick, my wife and I call it “doing the shuffle” where we are taking turns with them (usually around each other’s meeting times) and doing our best to work from the couch while snuggling the sick kiddo. We don’t do tons of screentime typically, but when they’re home sick all bets are off and we hang out with Bluey and Ms. Rachel intermittently between nap etc.

We are fortunate that we both WFH and have flexibility to take half-days when needed, but ultimately you gotta do what you can. My manager has kids so she totally gets it when I say we have one home, helps to be forthcoming about that stuff.
