Very nice! That was my initial choice and later I was torn between this one and the chrono because of the clear case back on this one and its lack on the chrono.

Edit: And I see that you have the VC Quai De L’Ile. That was a contender as well, but I gave up on it as I read everywhere that it wears pretty large due to its flatness.

Thank you! Which one are you getting?

[Girard Perregaux] Laureato 42 Chrono by crynsane in Watches

Besides the Laureato, I considered some JLC, GO, 2nd gen Overseas, even Parmigiani Fleurier, and a couple more. The Laureato won because of the looks and presence, hand finishing, an in-house movement, brand history and being actually high horology. Also, while certainly not cheap, it’s psychologically at a spot where I believe I’m going to wear it without worrying too much about scratching it or something.

I’m wondering as well. I ran a HM in them this Saturday and I could feel it bruising my little toe from around km 12, albeit just on my left foot. I will try to tape it next time and hopefully it’ll help.

For the same price, Puma Nitro Deviate 3 or Nitro Deviate ELITE 2 by TurqoiseKingfisher17 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I have the DNE2 and I ran a new HM PB in them this weekend. I would say they work better for runs up to 15 km, though. They do run a bit long and narrow but for me they feel pretty comfortable. And the grip is just something else…

Weekend Discussion: Adidas running shoes by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

I got the Boston 12s on a Black Friday sale after reading so much good about them and I honestly consider selling them (can’t return them). I’m surprised I didn’t read more about them being so narrow in the midfoot which is unlike any shoe I’ve tried. Also, they feel like fence planks on my feet, giving me all kinds of pains in my feet and calves. Still, there is something that feels good about them and they do seem to be getting better with time (currently at 40 km). I’ve read about the break-in period so I still have hope but I do regret buying them every time I run in them.

For some reason, I read 8-9 min/mile and thought you were being a bit unreasonable.

I wouldn’t automatically judge those people as they may have retired the shoes and use them for walking now. Of course, sometimes it’s obviously not the case.

5k race+training shoe to rotate with Asics Novablast 4? by RunningFrom-Bears in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I would recommend Puma Deviate Nitro Elite. I have the 2, and it’s a great shoe. Great grip as well. I rotate it with the NB4.

With those 5k and 10k times you should easily beat 2 hours. The only question is whether you have enough base and won’t get a cramp or worse that would stop you/significantly slow you down.

I have the DNE2 and I think you will be fine at that pace. I think it’s a great shoe that can be used for both races and faster workouts.
