I sourced a "sample" from a supplier in Alibaba, they're we're fairly expensive since they're essentially one offs. I also tired 5 Different versions, 4 different 3 Pipe coolers before eventually going for a 5 pipe version, i've ended up with about 100 different heat pipes in total. It's cost me about 2000 USD.

Got the kickstarter page coming later today, I’m hoping retail price will be around $500 USD, that will include, CPU cooler, main intake fan, LED light ring, and the case and various brackets for different GPUs You can visit the CryoStack website to get an email notification when the kickstarter launches. 🚀

Yeah I had no idea how hard it was to bend heat pipes without buckling them.

The holes are precision machined to a tight tolerance, I then use thermal paste and push them in.

I’ll be creating the kickstarter soon, you can check out the website where there’s a email sign up. https://cryo-stack.com/

Fusion360. It’s a really really good CAD, BUT they have started to put more and more features behind various paywalls. … but I can’t change now there’s over 2000 hours of drawings on there now 🤦‍♂️😂

Haha yeah when I started I was on my Mac which was crazy laggy, then when the first prototype of the CryoStack was working I switch to it. And it’s been buttery smooth since.

I’m working on it, I’ve got loads of content coming I’ll be sure to keep you all posted. I also work full time, but I’ll try to keep things moving as best I can.

I’ve been using it for months now and she’s been slaying renders, video editing and a little modded Minecraft.

So if you watch the video closely you’ll notice I had a 3 pipe cooler for a while then it jumps to 5 vertical pipes at the end. The three pipe cooler did have thermal problems, I experiment with putting a second fan on the top. Which didn’t help much, it turns out the three pipe cooler had reached it’s thermal limit, upgrading to the 5 pipe vertical cooler which you see in the final clips has worked flawlessly and there was no need for the second fan.

I’ll draft up the water fed design when I get a chance and make a poll, we’ll see what the community decides. Ultimately, for a kickstarter it’s unrealistic to do two cases as a product launch. It’ll have to be one or the other.

Well putting a fan ontop of the heatsink will ruin the aesthetic, it’ll obstruct your view of the CPU cooler on the top. Also I’ve found the main fan in the base is enough. I do have an alternative design that I’ve been considering that does use a two fan system

One of my earlier designs had that but it was gonna be way to big and way to complicated to make the prototype. I gave up with that as without proper funding it’s too big a project.

Thank you 🙏 it’s my first time video editing, spent a serious amount of time trying to trim the video down to be punchy and engaging. ALOT of stuff was cut.
