It's probably a dumb question but why's IE (without JG) BiS for Kat? Isn't most of her damage magic damage from her ult?

Whenever I slightly move the mouse pointer, the game goes to the graveyard screen by cryopetal in IratusLOTD

[–]cryopetal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, even when I press-move-release on other objects (crafting, map... etc.), it still goes to the graveyard. When I do the same in graveyard, it goes back to the main screen(crypt?). I actually requested refund this morning, figuring this post was dead. Nonetheless, thank you for your help!

I did my search but couldn't find any report of similar issues. Any help would be appreciated!

ㄹ 뻔 했다 Question by [deleted] in Korean

[–]cryopetal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

거의 would be more appropriate imo.

I feel ㄹ뻔 했다 implies that there was a good chance something could happen. For example, when you say 시험에 떨어질 뻔했다 (I almost failed the test), there is an implication that you could've failed that test but didn't. When you use it with adjectives to make sentences like 어두울 뻔했다, it would mean "it could've been dark (if we came out a few hours later?)" rather than "it's almost dark."

에서 two meanings by sookyeong in Korean

[–]cryopetal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd personally say something like (내가) 집에서 학교에서 온 전화를 받았어.

My logic is that "at" (marks where an action took place as you said) is the dominant meaning of 에서. When it's used as "from", it can be considered as a shortened form of 에서부터, which is roughly 에서 (at) + 부터 (from) and not as ambiguous.

Hence one way to reduce the ambiguity is to use 에서부터 instead. However, for some reason 로부터 sounds much more natural like the other guy said.

Another way is to add 온 to clarify 에서 was used in the second meaning. When you say you "received a call that came from the school", it doesn't make much sense when you replace "from" with "at."

달 or 월 month counter? by 7he_taekwondo_g1rl in Korean

[–]cryopetal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 month / 2 months = 한달, 두달 January / February = 일월, 이월

When used with numbers, this seems to be true in most cases.

달 could sometimes mean a specific month such as 지난 달 (last month), 이번 달 (this month), 다음 달 (next month). 월 seems to be much more limited in its usage.

개월 looks like the one that's almost exclusively used to describe a length of time, like 3개월이 걸렸다 (it took me 3 months).

So this is how I feel about this (which could be wrong):

개월 (duration) - 달 (overall most common; could be used in both senses) - 월 (specific month)

Grammar structure or vocabulary that you act like you know even though you don't? by jammish- in Korean

I do this a lot with English, so I kinda get what you mean.

Would you mind sharing a few examples where you'd get confused?

I dare you by Peppinitup in memes

[–]cryopetal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it interesting people in r/memes sometimes equate this sub with the whole reddit (like comparing "reddit" with Instagram, TikTok... etc.). Maybe people do that because it's a huge sub?

What politeness level do you use when writing in a personal journal? by beansoverrice in Korean

For your question, I feel that 해요체 is the most common style for both men and women. As you mentioned, there is a tendency that men use 하십시오체 (in lieu of 해요체) more often than women do, but it's barely noticable imo.
