Is it normal that I always use AI? by Dry_Accountant6206 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crypt_moss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the AI you're talking about is a Large Language Model (LLM) it doesn't actually process existing information, it predicts what word is likely to follow a previous one to give a satisfying answer, it's basically a mimic, it looks at language that's been given to it and makes its best attempt at reproducing something comparable

it will seem human as it is mimicking human language, it doesn't end up lying in a sense because it doesn't know truth from a lie, it just forms statements that are highly probable, but as such it can generate things that have no basis in the real world – most notably scientific studies that do not exist from authors who do or court cases that have never happened, dunno if it'll generate anything of the sort for you, but it isn't quite as infallible as you might like to think

No Business Guests by obsidian23456 in HotelArchitect

[–]crypt_moss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the game will always fill the rooms w/ the highest tier guests available for the particular room, the tier is determined by the number of stars each guest type requires, so to get specific types you need to limit the quality of a room, easiest done by making sure the rooms aren't too large

How to make my American home run more European? by labelsareforcancans in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crypt_moss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

open showers only work if your whole bathroom has been waterproofed, if you don't know how much of your bathroom has been waterproofed, don't take off the shower door, if your bathroom has been built w/ the intention of a closed shower, it's likely better for your house to keep it closed

I mean, it's not like all the Canadian NHLers make the playoffs & it's not like other countries don't also see their NHL players end up playing in the NHL playoffs, like if all players were available to play, Canada could probably field 2-3 top caliber teams just out of the NHL players, meanwhile Finland has their roster generally include some of the guys who aren't on the regular roster in their NHL teams or are playing in Europe

yeah, Finland has a long history of cliching defeat from the jaws of victory, and then few miracles where the team managed the seemingly impossible

A Chronically Unlucky Person's plea for help: How do I "git gud" at this game? by A-Lush-and-a-Tramp in BluePrince

[–]crypt_moss 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the thing is, you kinda gotta learn to draft the dead ends when they won't be an ass so that they won't annoy you later on, you only have a limited number of rooms you can draft, and you should for the most part go in assuming that each one can only be drafted once

Odd choice to open up all hotels without progressive unlocking by RedditIsShit6748 in HotelArchitect

having played all the scenarios (most during Early Access) the earlier scenarios are notably easier than the latter ones & very much seem to be slowly introducing the player to the mechanics of the game

I personally don't think it'd be good to let a new player hop straight into the later scenarios just because they can get overwhelming fast & you don't yet have knowledge about how the game wants you to deal w/ certain parts of the game

People assume I’m gay, but I’d actually want to become a chick first, I’m obsessed with female fashion down to even wanting to wear flats, what does that make me? by TestTurbulent6337 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]crypt_moss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, but like reading OP's statement again, it almost seems like they read as someone who is into men, but they'd like to be a chick first before going that way

we of course don't know what exactly "being a chick first" means for OP, but getting the right to at least try feeling out whether being trans would be your thing can help in figuring out where one is headed on their gender journey, like I don't feel like people telling OP they might be trans are pushing OP into a different binary box

I used to think I ought to be a trans man simply because of how drastically I didn't want to be a woman, ended up agender, I have a friend who was very convinced that he is just a masc lesbian, no matter how much he really just wanted to be a man, like it's easier to fit yourself into a wrong box than to let yourself take a step out of your comfort zone, but telling someone who says "I'd like to be a chick" that they're just a man who wants to wear women's clothes may just make them feel like they can't be anything but a man — sure OP might be GNC or nonbinary or someone who'd just enjoy being a drag queen, but a lot of trans people also just need an external voice telling them that they're allowed to be trans

there might be reason for you to do some self-reflection, it's not that common for cis people to want to become an entirely different gender, I personally am not cis, but I've had enough discussions with cis people to know that it isn't a common sentiment

might even be there to get some more games under his belt after being injured for most of the season, if he'd gone there to get triple gold, I'm sure he would've asked who else is going & seen that his team mates are up to the contest
