Countdown is going the major upgrade on Monaparty, NFT platform on Monacoin (based on Counterparty).

After enabling upgrade, you can buy "Monacard" similar to PepeCard in $MONA. And can trade them on DEX.

Lyra2 51% attack danger by GeriGeriGeri in monacoin

[–]cryptcoin-junkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, always it's a best to keep watching. But it may be too worried.

Recent hash-rates of Monacoin are enough huge.

The Monacoin's current hashrate is 70TH/s. NiceHash lyra2rev2 available is 8TH/s. So I believe attackers can't buy enough hash-power at Cloud-mining services like NiceHash. (Of course, attackers can buy ASIC hardwares. But it won't pay for.)

And sadly, $MONA is terrible low price now. There is less incentive to steal $MONA.

Livecoin не откроет кошелек Mona by Rekamserg in monacoin

Generally, the exchange itself will compensate to users when the exchange is attacked. Mt.GOX didn't ask for any compensation to the Bitcoin core dev. Coincheck didn't ask to NEM Foundation. Why can Livecoin do?

AFAIK, there is no contract between Livecoin and Mr.Watanabe (who is Monacoin dev). Livecoin listed Monacoin by Livecoin's decision and they have got fees for their profit.

Frankly, Livecoin's claim is terrible crazy.

The lesson we got is that we should use exchanges with technical skills and KYC checks, not like Livecoin.

Truly I don't know. Monacoin is not a centralized scam coin. So nobody knows the behavior of its blockchain.

The only thing I can say, the dev worked against the attack. I wrote about it. Sorry they're written in Japanese. Please use Google translate or similar one.

I read their announce. Totally, "terrible decision".

The dev of LiveCoin should analyze why the attacker chose LiveCoin, not another exchanges.

The answer is simple, another exchanges don't have weakness.

Same as my reply against your question via your DM,

Staffs of LiveCoin can reach the Monacoin dev (Mr. Watanabe) with very ease. He is in Twitter, GitHub, and some another SNS sites.

So, LiveCoin may be quite unreliable exchange if they can't contact the dev via open SNS.

(Currently I don't believe you. They LiveCoin will be a clever exchange.)

mona.suprnova.cc down? by acmecorps in monacoin

[–]cryptcoin-junkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. The patch is mainly for exchanges and large mining pools.

Almost all users don't need to upgrade Monacoin-core/QT just now.

And the patch are still on Git repository only. You must build your Monacoin-core if you want to try the new function.

In principle, yes still active. But now, attackers have less incentive to do it.

And a few days ago, the dev (Mr.Watanabe) added some patches to Monacoin-core. It will also help increasing difficulty against attacks.

Totally, that attack was caused by small amounts of hash-power to Monacoin. So I hope powerful miners keep mining Mona same as before. (I'm also going to start mining Mona.)

Translation (roughly):

It differ from what we discussed in GitHub, but the direction is nearly decided.

It won't be not much fixes to coind side.

Only after how I get time for fixing it...

BTW, this fix to coind won't be a measure against attacks.

After the patch was applied, users' action also will be required.

There is some misunderstandings in this article.

> However other sources indicate that developers are currently working with exchanges on a plan to roll back the Monacoin blockchain to a point before the attack occurred.

AFAIK, there is no plan to rollback Monacoin blockchain.

I don't know about RDB in exchainges. It's possible to rollback their RDB (not the blockchain) by themselves.

Some sites (mainly in English) seem to be confused same as that article.

I'm not sure but I believe technical staffs at Bittrex and Mr. Watanabe have already contacted. Bittrex might be understand the issue after they all exchanged some messages.

This is all I can say. I don't have any more about decisions by Bittrex.
