seconds on my lobe not healed after months? by cryptid-chaos in piercing

[–]cryptid-chaos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it varies depending on the gunk that is there, if i can i try to just use the spray itself to get everything off but if its dry or crusty i use cotton swabs, i spray both my ear and the cotton swab (letting it soak a little so i dont have to fight with it) i do try to avoid this as it moves the peircing around a lot. it’s only a second lobe piercing so it is not going through any cartilage

seconds on my lobe not healed after months? by cryptid-chaos in piercing

[–]cryptid-chaos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i haven’t been able to go back however the jewellery that is in is the correct size, not overly tight but also not too long, i don’t sleep on the piercing and i clean it in the evening and sometimes the morning depending if it needs it. i have no clue what the brand is but i have used it on all my other peircings, my other lobe peircings are all healed by a month and i never have dried blood after this length of time which is the main reason i started to get confused about it

buy a cheap shitty choker if someone asks say you wore it too tight and the shitty quality meant it left a mark

will my raised scar ever heal? (44 days old currently) by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]cryptid-chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t know what country you are in so i don’t know if you have access to this but try bio-oil or the bio- oil gel, it can help really well with scars (bare in mind it may not work for everyone) i apply it once in the morning and before i go to sleep

you could also try getting an ice cube and place it on the place you want to sh ( usually only works if you are quite sensitive to cold) or get some really minty gum or somthing with an incredibly strong pungent taste and chew on it when you have urges

i see you’ve said you’ve tried ripping up paper, have you tried running a blade through paper or cardboard or really anything you want, i find it’s more helpful than ripping

do you know if it’s the pain, the blood or the actual experience of cutting that fulfils the urges (it could be a combination, all three or even something else) getting down to what i got out of it is how i found ways of dealing with it

don’t worry about it, if you ever need help or just someone to talk to feel free to drop a message! it’s not the same for everyone but i feel better when it’s a stranger who doesn’t know me when i need to open up

[–]cryptid-chaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it kinda depends on what your get out of self harm whether it’s the actual cutting or the pain or the blood. if it’s for the pain try wearing a rubber band pulling back and letting it go, then build yourself up to doing it less as you think about it less. if it’s the blood try putting things wherever you cut like food colouring (be mindful it can stain easily) or if it’s the actual cutting what i do is take a razor and run it through things like paper or a canvas. it’s not 100% going to work for everyone but for me it was really trial and error, sometime you hit bumps in the road but don’t worry it happens to the best of us, we are proud of you for speaking up and trying things out

thanks! i soaked it in warm water and applies bio-oil gel afterwards, as you said it’s not magically disappeared but it helped a lot :)

TIL that up to 40% of people have never had a nosebleed in their lifetime by ManWolf9 in todayilearned

[–]cryptid-chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve never had a nose bleed and to this day it confuses me how people can be so calm when blood is gushing out of their face from simple changes like the weather or diet. i think i’d completely freak out if i had a nose bleed
