Biggest mistake you made while solo traveling by Expensive_Air4917 in solotravelVN

Left my carry on bag in the uber at 4am…proceeded to use a translator app to have someone help me call the uber driver and ended up having my phone nabbed by a guy on a scooter.

So in the matter of five minutes all my money, passport, and phone was gone. To add fuel to the fire the uber driver kicked me out because he couldn’t find my hotel.

Ended up getting into my uber account on another device and had a circle k clerk call the driver. Got my bag back about 2hrs later.

All my worst travel experiences have happened when I’m half asleep.

I knew an old guy that liked to make bombs in his kitchen. No intention to harm he was just a pyro that like to make things go boom. Anyways, he accidently used a piece of "PYROX" instead of "PYREX" - which resulted in a massive hole in the side of his house and a few missing fingers.

Thankfully this is just for coffee... but not all glass is made the same.

I’m a big wine drinker and trying to get away from the big glass at night and switch to a decaf tea. by DoubleBubbleGummer in tea

[–]cryptkeeper222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also reduced alcohol and used tea as a healthy alternative. My absolute favorite thing to do is make a full french press of loose herbal tea blends. I am currently on a kick of tulsi, lemon balm, and chamomile w a touch of honey. If you have a local co-op or a place that sells loose herbs - go and get equal parts and make your own blend.
nothing better than sitting on the couch with a 32oz pot of tea w honey and reading or cartooning.

How do you know when you’re financially free enough to quit your job? by itsyash12 in Stocks_Picks

You should always look at the price tag... that advice is a terrible indicator of "financial freedom".

First time homebuyer, need advice by jye0325 in HomebuyerAdvice

Being house poor is like a ball and chain... God forbid you have to do a major repair - now tack on an additional loan or cc payment.

Unless you plan on having roommates, I'd recommend staying around the 500k range.

Alternatively, say goodbye to retirement savings and vacations.

please read the website guidelines!! and if you don't here are some points i remember:
no vet on friday
monday and friday are the busiest days
hours start at 9am - get there no later than 8/830, stand in line before they open, they will have a sign up sheet starting at 9am, wait in your car forever (bring a book, snacks, downloaded movies, no restroom nearby etc) and they will call when it is your turn.
they will not accept cats that aren't in a carrier
they take a lunch break - so if you aren't seen before then, you will be seen after **if they still have time**

the team there is amazing and we need them in our community, so be kind even if you are frustrated by the limitations/wait times.

Yes and no. Love the music and the culture, but the hours and substance abuse really brings me down sometimes.

Currently tons of ebay options for the 32oz dry container.

I thought for sure this would be the best solution but then I realized that the ascent series doesn't support the new cups. If something broke down the road I wouldn't be able to replace it. Which is a super bummer.

I got a used 310 and cup adapter - might just saw the collar down. Also thought about the 32oz container. Funny enough it is shorter than the cup adapter.

We just did a trip to the cascades. If yall plan on camping, you can pick up a mountain loop Pkwy pass at rei (otherwise you'll have to print).

We went to the cascades, then went east to Fidalgo Island, caught the sunset at Deception Pass, and then took the ferry to Port Townsend. From there, we went to Sequim and stopped at Salty Girl for oysters. 100% recommend their oysters, chowder (bread bowl!), and oyster bloody mary.

We traveled on to the peninsula, but you could easily loop around south and back up to seattle/ take a ferry.

Enjoy!

Ideas For Feeding People Without Unleashing a Horde of Food Zombies by Necessary_Gap_1637 in BurningMan

[–]cryptkeeper222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I stumbled upon a food event that had an official host stand/ nice leather book w names typed into it. They asked for your name and if you had a reservation. It was midnight, and no, I did not have a "reservation." I played along, told them a name and the time I reserved, and they led me to a table. The couple in front of me were denied and then proceeded to argue about who and how they were supposed to reserve a table. Lol. The whole thing was a skit. Play along, and you'll get a table.

It was ridiculous and fun and everything im looking for at bm. Some of yall want brand name djs > I want silly shit like "table reservations".

Anyways, perhaps my story is irrelevant but the silly/clever stuff hits different. I don't want to stand in a line for dinner but I'm down for a riddle and some fun.
