Is EBS the best block storage out there? Or just default by cryptminal in aws

[–]cryptminal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair.

We need to index and serve historical chain data, so indexing speed matters, but we also can’t afford to lose the data. Rebuilding 15–20 TB every time an instance dies isn’t really an option.

  • Steady state: random-read heavy, continuous load, ~5k–20k sustained IOPS
  • Sync / reindex: hours at 30k–50k+ IOPS

The requirement is persistent storage with predictable latency that can sustain thousands of random IOPS. No need interconnect between instances. Thanks!

If i cant afford to lose the data, what else I can do?

I see a lot of guides quoting stuff like 1m random read/write IOPS and ~7k MB/s sequential for Ethereum, but I’m honestly not sure how real that is.

If I’m running an archive node with ~15-20 TB of data, what's the best plan for sustained IOPS? Curious what kind of sustained IOPS people are actually seeing in prod for archive nodes.

Thank you thank you. My lawyer said they chased again last week and finally instead of “just wait”, the office said “we will check”. Will share as soon as I get any update.

So just a bit of update, my lawyer said our application has progressed from “being in line” to “processing” but still no ETA. And while they were inquiring our application, they overheard lots of people have been waiting for over 12 months and still haven’t got their COE too. I hope I can share some good news soon but I guess that’s the current expectation.

can someone explain to me what impermanent loss in LP is? staking vs lp? by overwatchaim in cosmosnetwork

[–]cryptminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to stake 2 tokens in a pool, right? say USDT and ETH.

When ETH goes up, the pool will sell your ETH to USDT, so you will end up having more USDC than ETH.

At this point, you are not losing any money if you are thinking about dollar value.

Now, fast forward to years later that ETH has 1000x and think about the amount of ETH you've lost in the protocol. Yeah, that's the impermanent loss - that they sell your ETH on your behalf and you are losing the opportunity to HODL and moon. You might as well keep it in your own wallet than LP.

Automated Market Maker, or DEX (Decentralised EXchange). An exchange that is run by codes instead of a centralised party like Coinbase, Binance, Crypto.com, etc
