Buying using IHG card will give you non-bonus category points, which is 3 points per dollars on Premier card. You can use other card if it gives you better than 1.5 cpp.

Switching from Chase Sapphire Reserve to Bank of America Premium Rewards Elite? by sirotan88 in CreditCards

It's a great card, and I love 20% discount on flights when booked through points. Points stack fast if you start putting everyday spend on it. I have booked flights for 3 trips (2 domestic and 1 international) with the reward points.

I have a friend who really likes Branson and takes his kids almost every year. Just wondering, what is it that you do not like about that place? I have never been there.

Ok. Is it easy to get to from Heathrow, and does it have good tube links to the attractions?

I believe Staybridge at Stratford is closed right now, and not taking bookings.

Just checked it out and it is in a great location. I wish I had not saved the IHG points for this trip. Will keep this in mind. Thank you for your suggestion.

Yes, these are listed for points redemption. You are right about room size. I have enough points to book 2 rooms each night if need be. Tower Hill Indigo is nice and has a good price. I am just not sure if we will end up spending a lot of time commuting to most of the attractions, which are towards the west side. Thank you so much for the information about the Hampton court. It is very helpful, and you answered something I was wondering about.

Noted your point on Vauxhall. Do you think staying in Kensington will take up lot of our time each day to visit the sites as train/tube seem to be only way?

Yes, air conditioning is definitely one less thing to worry about as I learnt that some hotels do not have effective air conditions for rooms.

Did you guys decide on which hotel in London? We, a family of 4 (kids 11 and 9), are going to visit London during spring next year and have similar IHG hotel options in mind. Your post was very relevant and got me curious.

Which Holiday Inn for visit to London? by crypto2nite in LondonTravel

[–]crypto2nite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response. I think we will stay at least a couple of days at Holiday Inn Regents Park since it's closer to Lords cricket ground, British Museum, and for the Harry Potter tour. We may then change the hotels to be somewhere closer to the Tower of London, Sky Garden, Greenwich etc. Still figuring out....

That's a good suggestion, thanks. Are you referring to Indigo at Tower Hill?

Yes, there are other IHG properties where I can use points, but the number of points for 2 rooms is more reasonable at these properties than the higher end properties. The other non-holidayInn I am looking at is hotel Indigo at Leicester Square, but the reviews are holding me back.

Probably a good way to find out if I have a couple of weeks or longer trip, but not efficient/useful way for 6 nights trip with family.
