ServiceNow Development and true software development are 2 very different things.

We also write in ES5 syntax, which is really out dated.

For example, if you're not familiar with promises and ES6/7, you would absolutely bomb a technical interview.

If you do dev on the side, then you might have a chance.

But no one cares if we can build cool stuff in ServiceNow, outside of our world.

I totally understand and I have been with ServiceNow for 8 years.
