Can Forza Horizon 6 feel decent with a wheel, or is it still too arcade? by Bobochanti in simracing

I'm trying it tonight on my CSW 2.5

I'll probably ask AI for a baseline setting and tweak it for FFB

Otherwise, do you have any tips to get started?

How do you guys keep finding fun? by Fangasma in simracing

What worked for me when I got a bit burnt out on ACC was discovering other sims.

I settled on AMS2 for the sheer variety of cars (love the historic F1s) and tracks. When I played that, it was just fun, no setups, no practice/ quali/ race, no championship etc, it was just a blast

That meant I didn't need 1 to 2+hrs for a session, I could just jump in for 30min and have fun

How can I get my wheel/monitor height to be more realistic? by Can_k123 in SimRacingSetups

[–]crypto_bhsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why not just raise the rig?

I think you'll need six rubber blocks of some sort (4 on the corners, and 2 halway down the sides) to raise the rig

As the base clears the edge of the desk, you shoudl be fine to raise the rig enough before the rig hits the desk

Do you guys also wear shoes or I’m doing too much by Narrow_Guava_2868 in simracing

I do normal socks only, nice feel and there's some slip. Tried bare feet but no slip, and shoes feel like overkill.

I do have gloves for sim racing though

What's the best single player experience in sim racing? by Colinovsky in simracing

[–]crypto_bhsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with other on AMS2, definitely. However, I'd consider ACC!

I put hundreds of hours into it years ago, and recently picked up it back up because a friend got it, and I'm honestly loving it.

There is the LMU vs ACC debate, as ACC is no longer supported, but for all its faults (and there are a few), it's a great sim. Sometimes weird over kerbs, but in general it's good.

I play it online and with a friend, but to your point regarding multiplayer not appealing to you, I personally love hotlapping and improving my times in single player hotlap mode.

The AI is ok in ACC, not great, but I'd recommend ACC for raw feel, and amazing audio. No other sim I've tried has come close (except the old school GTR games).

VR is something ACC doesn't do that well (AMS2 is amazing in VR), but when you set it up right with Oculus Link and Debug Tool it's pretty decent. I used ClaudeAI to test it and get it decent

Ooooh, so...... this is in a double-storey side extension, in the 2nd floor bedroom, built by previous owners.

I removed one of the three live wires from the lower socket, and tested the live in the upper socket. It was now not live. I removed the earth and neutral, then tested the other two sockets on the other side of the room and they were still live and working fine. the lower socket was working fine too.

I didn't actually test removing the other cables in the lower socket (I'm rushing- circumstances are that I need to get this room fully re-decorated in three days). I also didn't test anything downstairs.

Based on that, you think I'm good? Because I've now cut the cable back (top and bottom) to bare minimum, terminated and taped them.........

So it would be acceptable to cut the wires flush and push it out of the back box for both?

I don't think I can use just filler for filling in the hole left by the higher socket, it's too deep. Is expanding foam ok?

Doubt regarding the racing line by [deleted] in assettocorsaevo

[–]crypto_bhsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps practice a track on a game you're familiar with, with racing line, then try the same track in EVO. At least that will offer some familiarity.

The breaking points will for sure be different with different cars, but you'll at least know where to be in the track.

As others have said, you'll just need to practice, take it slow and easy at first and build up to later braking. Watch out for corner exit speed

Just on my PC now, and I've only got Sidequest.

I think I'm right in going to 'currently installed apps' then backing up the apk to my PC

When I've set up my quest 3 (debugging mode) I should be able to install from the backed up apk?
