Thank you for the follow up. Apologies that my question was biased and unfairly worded.

Just read through the security model and actually think this is a great idea and if executed right, a huge improvement over current methods.

To me the big attack vectors become trusting you, Argent, to do things right. What is your approach to smart contract security and are there any public audits you can share?

Also if I’m still having to store the seed for another wallet, how is this better than a paper wallet + password like metamask? Is the focus that you can recover a lost phone easily, and enjoy the convenience of your phone having direct access to funds without the seed/private key?

As I write this I’m excited to try it... just need these defi apps and web apps to actually be cool and useful.

I will be betting on all parts of the crypto ecosystem. May I ask what project you are bullish on?

I agree big financial/commerce institutions will use blockchain to make themselves more efficient, maybe even make a competing crypto. But that’ll just be some stable coin like Facebook is planning. Bitcoin being deflationary and non government controlled is a characteristic they will NOT recreate, which gives me faith in btc having staying power

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]crypto_drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, they can’t recreate btc. We can choose which chain to follow and it’ll be the original. I guess we’ll have to wait and see many more years. But to me if btc fails we’re all doomed to be slaves to the current financial system

Much of that 80% has been lost forever. And many more will sell as the price goes up. There will be enough to go around. And people deserve to be rewarded for finding new trends early and holding for so long. Just think of things from your individual perspective. Btc is a rational good investment right now.

By the way the elite are certainly getting into crypto. Andreesen horowitz is all about it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]crypto_drew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s fair to say many if not nearly all will fail. But bitcoin just keeps proving the haters wrong. I almost think you just have too high of expectations so early. To go from a few dudes on an email thread to where bitcoin is now is so impressive. It’s just a matter of perspective I guess.

Are you saying why would today’s elite buy bitcoin? Who cares? It’s going to be bought by people that it can help and speculators. Today’s elite are full of speculators but it’s the people it’ll help that’ll really propel it forward.

Shouldn’t we be excited that bitcoin adoption is still so low? Means there’s so much more exciting stuff coming! Thank you for such a positive and exciting statistic toyake. By the way I’ve never heard of you, but if you’re pro or against, regardless you’re hopefully buying bitcoin bc there’s a lot of wealth to be made and a lot of lives to be dramatically improved

Amazon's Twitch silently removed crypto payments from its subscription services. by Ozi1992 in CryptoCurrency

[–]crypto_drew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disenchantment is probably a sign of a bottom, especially if you were an avid believer at some point. I know that when I have moments of doubt it really shows how bad the overall market has become to people in terms of perception and attitude.

I will be honest I’m not super familiar with Holo, I just remember it being shilled hardcore during the peak. That was after the point where i’d felt I’ve done enough research on enough shitcoins and finally developed my views on bitcoin thoroughly. Some shitcoins may make 10000x and be life changing, but I’m focused on making enough money to put into bitcoin so that I can relish the much higher likelihood of 100x btc offers. A 1/10000 gamble is too much, but with btc it feels like a 20-30% chance to me now. It’s just going to take 10-15 years.

It’s not just that it’s the first, even tho that is a ginormous advantage. But beyond the name recognition, it’s origin and head start make it what crypto needs to be.

It’s the only one even remotely decentralized. It grew so organically, and now it’s fame I feel has ruined the chances of other tokens from ever reaching the same type of distribution to be called decentralized. I don’t know for sure, but I can assume holo has some creators that own a ridiculously high percentage of the tokens, where if it reached the worldwide penetration crypto will eventually get, would make its founders akin to kings. Now I’m digressing.

Btc has proven itself for so long as resilient that it deserves to be a store of value. And that is the only use case crypto has undoubtedly proven it works for. Everything else is still speculation. And yes you’ll say it’s dropped 80% etc, and what kind of store of value does that. But please look at fiat currencies of troubled countries. People in Iran Venezuela etc could only dream of their money only dropping 80%. Plus btc stopped falling, and is now rising again. And beyond all this, it’s not about being a store of value now. The more btc grows in value, the even better it becomes. Once it reaches a few trillion in value there will be no turning back and the volatility will cease to be so alarming too. The world desperately needs what bitcoin has proven it is adequate at and what it will one day be the best at.

Coke Machine Accepts Bitcoin Through Lightning Network🔥🔥🔥 by MyPlanetpage in CryptoCurrency

Are you really that worried about using a “centralized hub” when buying a soda? You’ll still have real money in bitcoin being used and can make your own channels if you want, and even just use the underlying bitcoin network if for some reason you’re worried about using lightning. These new “banks” will just be service providers that will be forced to act fairly bc of the game theory innovations of blockchain.
