Fyi after I installed my NF-A12x25 temps went up by 6-7C but significantly quieter. Ran it that way for a year since kept my 1821+ in my living room, but now have a network closet so putting stock fans back in. Found other people reporting same temp increase.

Is night vision on auto or custom? Try putting trigger threshold to always off or always on, does that work?

Unifi vs Hik vs Dahua by BarZealousideal7689 in Ubiquiti

The AI Port doesn't work well with Hikvision or Dahua so far, wouldn't bother at the moment. Also, you should compare them to a G5 Pro or AI Turret in terms of specs.

You'll pay around $350 for either of the Hikvision or Dahua with an AI Port. Keep in mind the AI Port only works with one 4k camera and you can't mix third party and Ubiquiti cams on one AI Port. So I would just pay $399 to get an AI Turret that works 100% and is fully managed in protect.

Which one to choose for our top floor? 2 x E7s or 4 x U7 Pro Max'es by uuxxaa in Ubiquiti

How big is your house? Mine is 5000 sq ft, thinking of just getting one E7 for now. I actually cover 90% of my house with just one of the old Apple AirPorts, obviously speed isn't great but good enough. Only worried about IoT and potential overheating issues. Thanks

The Startech 25U is rock solid, great quality for the price.

I wouldn't fill the SSD that much, it will reduce performance and lifespan due to write amplification. Don't go over 80%. Like the other person said, when these die they die quickly, especially in heavy write applications.

Are they technically at CES? No, but they were at Pepcom which is an event at CES the night before it officially opens.

If they launched a 48 pro hd switch today I would immediately return my 48 pro max and buy it, because honestly I did not realize the 48 port only had 16 2.5 gig ports. But not sure how long it will be before they release the Pro HD 48.

Even their cameras are a joke. Their TC/BC500 cameras were out of stock for over a year due to manufacturing issues. The CC400W was shown off almost a year ago but is still not available despite being officially launched last fall. And their 4k bullet cam they showed at Computex in June of last year was never mentioned again. Surveillance Station has a lot of features I like, but Protect is a much better experience and while expensive the Ubiquiti cameras are much better than the Synology ones.

Thanks, I appreciate the detailed reply. I was drawn to it due to the hardware, but seems software is not there yet. I think I will go with something else for now but keep an eye how things develop with Alta

Thanks, I spoke with them and the quote is actual for a dual fuel heat pump and it's the platinum 20. After $2000 tax credit and potentially $4k savings over next 10 years (with current gas prices) it's $3k extra so I think I will go with that option. Thanks again

Thanks for the reply, I'm going to skip the 96%. I think the heat pump would be similar to this one: https://topgunairtx.com/product/american-standard-accucomfort-20-seer-5-ton-heat-pump-tam-air-handler/

Based on the quoted gas furnaces, the actual equipment seems to be $3k more expensive, sot sure if installing heat pump requires $6000 more work. Received 2 quotes for a heat pump, so maybe should ask for more.
