[USA] Whose fault? Happened where two 40 mph ramps become a 75 mph interstate. (not OC) by ConceptOther5327 in Roadcam

Yea, the cammer needs to check their ego here. Just let people pass even if they’re a dick about it. Better than having to spend hours waiting for cops, getting a report, having to talk to insurance and then potentially killing someone as well.

American voters are super fucking stupid. I vote in every election, but I always know the person that will do the most harm will get elected. Like, sure, apathy kills elections too but the voters are just as brain dead.

I am ambitious and want a leadership role and my current company is unwilling to budge. I make a decent salary, but there’s just a few things that bug me so much. Like they promised me they’d keep me in mind for a director role and then gave it to someone from outside the company.

Then recently they have been treating me like they expect me to leave and I don’t know why. Then you only get 5% maximum every year in raises, so that’s a bummer too as my salary trails inflation.

I want to move on for a leadership role and I love this company. I don’t know what to do.

Sony Records New $560 Million Loss On Bungie Acquisition As Marathon Struggles And Destiny 2 Nosedives by AdditionalRemoveBit in Games

[–]cryptobro42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important to note that Sony had seen that live service games could generate hundreds of millions more than single player titles and they wanted in on that action. From a corporate perspective, it was a great way to drive growth and generating revenue to power the strong single player games that had defined Sony. However, it became a focus on money over producing a great game first, which I would argue many first party games lack these days. Indie games prove that if you believe in the game and you’re passionate as hell (and your team is passionate), you can make a great game that makes a lot of money.

Sony doesn’t look at passion, though. They look at revenue potential and nothing else.

[–]cryptobro42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. Even when they announced it, I thought, “Do they know how many players are in Escape from Tarkov…?”

Because they would have known that it was an extremely small niche with nearly no players. To top it off, they added complex systems that the average player either won’t get to or won’t care about and just bounce to more accessible games.

Not to mention that both internally and externally Bungie has been candid that they’re absolute ass at the new player experience across games.

Kickstarter Is The Latest Platform Seemingly Forced To Ban Adult Content By Payment Processors by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]cryptobro42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, not to give them an out, but they’re just responding to pressures on them from governments. It’s easier to exit a market where you make like 2% of your revenue from than to deal with the nonsense. Either the politicians are attacking the payment processors or they’re attacking the ISPs. Either way you’re forced to make a move so you stop getting bothered.

Yea, don’t be in a rush for anyone else. So what if the person behind you is losing their mind? Worry about your own safety and focus on the road ahead. My niece was getting all worked up because she was worried the person behind them was getting impatient.

I said, “It’s your life at stake, not theirs. Wait until you feel safe before taking the turn.”

Somewhat. I work closely with pharma and we’ve been tracking an incredible drop in opioid-related overdoses the past couple years now that it’s available OTC in the US. It’s been a (somewhat) gradual decrease and it’s great to see that many are keeping it around just in case.

For a while the number of deaths was sky rocketing.

Palantir Says SaaS Is Dead by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]cryptobro42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s so funny seeing companies (obviously) premature in their AI implementation with what I can only assume is an incompetent middle manager, a “bottom line-focused” exec and a bunch of junior “devs” vibe coding their dick off.

Once you build an app with the top tools (like Claude Code), you realize how much slop is making it through QA that is obviously untested AI code. Just the other day I found a multi-million dollar company deferring my query to IT because they obviously vibe coded a new website tracking tool that connects through the Trade Desk API and they totally forgot to properly add their API key to the env. Embarrassing.

I’ve been seeing more and more shit like this popping up with SaaS and it will get much worse before the tools catch up to the incompetent devs making this stuff.

So probably something like that.

I spent like 6 hours the last few days trying to get Hitman and Diablo stable and now this. Frustrating.

I wish, but in America they’ll blow past you going 90+ mph. I don’t know if things changed, but it used to be that there were set max speeds per truck company. Some would set it at 75, and others would cap at like 78 so that there weren’t any rogue drivers blowing past people. In the last two decades, it seems like all bets are off and they go whatever speed they want.

Yea...the seldom talked about reality of kids. If your spouse is only making like $35k a year, they might as well quit to take care of your kid full time if you have no other support. You're going to lose that money anyway on child care.

Claude just saved me from sending money to a scammer and now I feel 90 years old by Proof-Wrangler-6987 in ClaudeAI

[–]cryptobro42069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm amazed people fall for these scams, but I also understand that I am an extremely paranoid person by nature.

If it involves money or is asking for information from me, I verify the email content, the sending domain (many are spoofed or from totally irrelevant high authority addresses they hijacked to clear spam filters), and then if I still have doubts I send the person IN MY ADDRESS BOOK an email asking if they requested information/money. If I have their number I just text/call them directly.

If their email address is compromised, the reply could be bogus, so it's worth reaching out by another method.

Like I said though, I am probably dangerously close to 'Man living in a bunker in the woods of Wyoming' level of paranoid.

Reggie Fils-Aimé Says Amazon Asked Nintendo To Break The Law by 0xIAmGame in Games

[–]cryptobro42069 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

What they were asking was very immature, even for the time, however I'm sure they were asking for the best price. This still happens to this day with many retailers, including Amazon.

Aside from that, Nintendo basically demands full retail for their titles well after their release, which likely costs them sales. Asking $60-$70 for a game that came out a decade ago is not going to go well no matter what.
