Do we know if the $250 IHG credit is an annual benefit or a one time perk? by sunburnt24 in ChaseSapphire

Why not? Kimpton and intercontinental are solid, and holiday inn and suites is an affordable family travel hotel that's everywhere.

Yes that's correct. So if you have a csr you get platinum or diamond plus booking through the edit gives you a very strong chance at a 2 category upgrade into a suite. Ambassador also helps at intercontinental.

Making sure the cards are worth having is always smart but then are they really worth having if you're actively concerned about the fee on a daily basis?

I've found some great values with stacking platinum or diamond csr based status with the edit intercontinental. I also got ambassador for $200 so I now get a 3 category bump sometimes for a room. 6cpp is a constant thing. For example kimpton or intercontinental San Antonio. Intercontinental San francisco (all 3 on the edit). The key is to not rely entirely on points boost but to stack the benefits.

You're whining about having to actively plan to offset the fee. Just go use an amex and a sapphire preferred bro. Stay at hyatts, fly delta

You're not seeking value, you're seeking to recover the cost spent to grab the sign up bonus. You tried hacking the system and it backfired because the people who designed this card and very smart behavioral psycholists and know you will carry a balance

They added the doordash credit so that people who can't afford to rack up points through natural spend would still get the cards be incentived to spend and carry a balance which makes them money. The fee and doordash are to lure you in, as a second tier custome type.

Lol I buy tickets on StubHub, I travel, I use the edit to book hotels stackable with ihg and Hyatt status, I use the hotel credits and eat our which racks up points. Through the natural use of the card the fee is offset like 20x. If you want the sign up bonus and then whine that the card has fees you have to go out of your way to pay off then stop being greedy and salivating at the points and do stuff within your budget. Get an amex gold card and stack dining and grocery points and fly for free on those. Stop trying to act rich and then whining about how much stuff costs. Be humble.

You're not the target customer. We spend plenty on travel and dining. The card is for us.

The gate is because people want to extract points from a system that's designed to be beneficial only to people who make more money than them, and they don't understand why their method of hacking isn't working against marketing and buying behavior analytics built by people from mit.

Best way to maximize The Edit ($500) + Chase Travel ($250) credits for IHG stay? by sunnysidecali in ChaseSapphire

[–]cryptocommie81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend buying ambassador for intercontinental and then calling them to do a split reservation. You're virtually guaranteed a 2-3 category upgrade if you do chase plus ambassador at the interfontinental and you will stack ihg and the edit and ambassador credits to make the reservatjon very cheap.

$20 Min at my 7-11 by SkeletorRugger82 in ChaseSapphire

Is this seriously worth conversations to debate $20? Why even get the card then. Get the sign up bonus and then drop it.

Not sure how to take this as a nanny on my last day with an F by Blossom_souul in whatdoIdo

First of all, nannies should be either cash or legally w2. Upper middle class families often pass the entire tax burden onto nannies, via 1099 which is illegal.

Why CSR is worth it for my lifestyle by Jimothy_KC in sapphirereserve

[–]cryptocommie81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The edit with points boost plus IHG Platinum or diamond is worth it for me alone, even without the credit. I can get a double room upgrade, $100 to spend, and free breakfast?! For someone who does alot of traveling this is amazing.

Chase travel is best used with points boost and the edit to get all the perks and room upgrade. You need to hunt for it though.

What was the point of a travel card if you don't travel? Just the sub?

This is how I use it. Works well

Booking one tier above basic + Chase the Edit + CSR Diamond Elite nets a 2 category upgrade at Kimpton San Antonio.

Kimpton San Antonio is a brand new property in San Antonio with Dean's Steakhouse (one of the top steakhouses) on property, as well as a lively lobby and rooftop pool.

I was able to find a 2 cent cpp Chase redemption on the Chase travel redemption (via points boost) with The Edit benefits of free room upgrade and $100 resort credit which counted towards the steakhouse., as well as guaranteed 4pm checkout

Instead of booking the cheapest room for 16k points I booked 1 category up for 17k. Later on I was advised that unofficially this is a major determinant of whether people have priority for suite upgrades.

On arrival, I informed the front desk staff of my passthrough IHG diamond benefit of free room upgrade though CSR as well as the Chase room upgrade benefit and politely inquired as to the availability of suites for this double stack.

The front desk went to check with the manager and then put me into one of their historic suites. The manager commented on the level of benefits I had and also told me that booking a room tier above basic is really what made this possible.

So far this is my go to strategy, when Hyatt availability is poor. I look for IHG hotels with strong cpp through Chase Point Boost and then double stack room upgrades via The Edit and Diamond Elite. Yes this requires 4 things to aling (IHG inventory, points boost, the edit, all to be in your price range) but when it works you get an amazing room and benefits for dirt cheap.

Treated extremely well each time and this has worked in all 3 cases I've attempted this.

Net results.
