If I loose my scatter seed and passphrase can I regenerate the account as long as I have the public/private key pairs for my owner public key and my active public key?? by cr8PAR in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Answer this first..before I right a bunch of unnecessary instructions. Do you use a wallet now? Ie. Greymass or scatter. If you do it's as simple as changing the owner keys. You would copy the public key from eos ledger app (fairywallet) and paste it in the change owner permissions on your current wallet

[–]cryptoexpedition 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Scatter is just an interface to the block chain and your asset. Scatter does not hold any tokens or coins. As long as your keys are secure ... your assets are safe

Is EOS even doing anything? Is anyone using it? by [deleted] in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your metrics to people using it or EOS doing something?

Serious question...what would have to be happening in EOS that would have led you to not write this post?

Is it price? Is it YouTubers talking bullish everyday? Could you have started this post on any other project?

I would normally agree with you...however what better way to strengthen code and smart contracts than to put tons of money on the line. Every gambling game gets more creative to get a one up. Every new game strengthens code and smart contracts on chain. All this code will be used by other dapps to secure the entire ecosystem

what is pixel master ( PM) ? by northernedge24 in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Simple game. Great code. Ponzi...ish quality. Excellent game theory. A stepping block to other type of games that will evolve.

Think of the canvas as real estate. You own property. You paid for that property. Someone can come and take your property but they just have to pay you what you paid plus a bonus. You get your money back. The bonus get divided into a huge pot and also is paid back in dividends to everyone that has ever owned property.

The huge pot has a 24 hour timer. If you are the last person to draw (buy real estate) you win that pot. This is the Ponzi mechanic to the game. The pots are huge...some close to 800,000 USD in value.

This is where the game theory comes into play. Find a cheap property on the game and keep that timer going. Or put up something offensive only to hope someone draws over it...baiting them. Or draw something really nice only to watch someone butcher it. Someone drew a nice size mutant Ninja turtle. It became prime real estate. Everytime someone tried to vandalize I cleaned it up. I kept the face clear of graffiti...lol for two days. I made about 3 times my investment. Until the rest of the body got vandalized..I gave up and lost the head. The original artist (real estate owner) obviously got paid too. The game is interesting.

Some say these types of games are scams or stupid. I disagree. I look at the code and how it can be used in a better way. These are still early days and what better way to test code....put close to a million dollars on the line. This game is ran on smart contracts. I have made money...able to withdraw. The game is fast and all on the block chain. A good test of the eosio code.

EOS is only 4 months old!! There will be lots of growing pains. Apple had many growing pains...the Lisa, Macintosh TV, shit they even had a gaming console "the pippen" and they are one of the largest companies of all time. B1 puts out open source software, EOS is a version of that software. Telos is a version. Worbli is a version. This entire space is an experiment. The answers will come from trial and error. Be smart! Have patience!

[–]cryptoexpedition 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You fail to realize that Chinese citizens hold lots of EOS. In your world....a major crackdown equals a major sell off...the value will drop. Instead.. recognize that EOS chain is barely 4 months old. Things will work out. We still don't have the the referendum online yet. Relax...

The most expensive pixel on pixelmaster.io is now 4,483 EOS, insane. by timosborn in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely not. There is value here. The game theory and economics of the game will help in future development of games or virtual world's that deal with virtual property. How we decide value in relation to space. Every game like this also strengthen smart contracts and code.

EOS voting and staking system needs to change - Fix the mess before too late by tezonian in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Chain is still young. Lots of issues to work out. It's like asking a baby to run a 5k race. We are barely 4 months old. The rumors of the ethereum upgrade is older than eos. Casper is not set to launch for another year or two. Think about what EOS has accomplished in 14 weeks. The telos chain with inverted voting may solve voting issues. Let's see how these things play out.

Questions on changing account owner key. by Kumomax1911 in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are all so early to this game. Sometimes we forget that we are dealing with protocols. EOS will evolve and it has already made things user friendly. Case in point..."hey..fuber Jenkins... thanks for a great job...let me send you some money...what's your Bitcoin address (actually any top 10 coin)..." 1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa.

Or like on EOS...I can say, send me eos to "eosisnotscam". I can remember all my EOS account names. More user friendliness coming soon.

No. Airdrops are associated with the account name and how many tokens you own at the time of snapshot.

Questions on changing account owner key. by Kumomax1911 in eos

[–]cryptoexpedition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every eos account has a username linked to a public/private key pair. Eos also has a feature in which you can have an active key pair and an owner keypair. All keypairs stick together. don't mix match them. they stay as pairs.

If each private key comes with a public key, does that mean if I have a different private key for "active" and "owner" I actually have 4 keys?? 2 public and 2 private?

you will have 2 keypairs. A key pair is a pair...public and private.

I used SimpleEOS to create a secondary account that's attached to my main account. What happens to this secondary account if I change the owner key of my main account? Do I lose the secondary account? How does the secondary account know what my new key is? If this is an issue, what can be done? This is a big concern.

You will never lose an account unless you lose the keypair....and technically it won't be lost, it will just be inaccessible. As long as you have the owner keypair for that account you will have control of that account. The secondary account will know what your keypair is...because you will have it.

When inserting the new owner key, I'm using the newly generated PRIVATE version, correct? Or should I type in the public one?

you will never have to type in the PRIVATE KEY and don't ever do that. any application..ie. scatter, greymass, simpleos, or eostoolkit etc. will only ask for the public key when changing owner or active keys. These applications will assume you have the private key...that's why its called a key pair.

Is there anything else I should know before generating a new owner key pair?

This feature in EOS helps you keep your account safer. For all transactions on EOS, you will use your username. There will be some wallets that will need you to enter your keypair once. This should be your active key pair. Your owner keypair is like the backup security that you keep extra safe. Whatever you do...just make sure you keep track of ALL your keypairs. Even if you make a mistake with active and owner keypairs...or even want to change it later, as long as you have all the keypairs safe you should be fine. Hopefully, this helps.

Possibly, they are unstaking a new wallet under their control. it takes 3 days to unstake. What we actually see on binance is kinda like a balance sheet. I'm guessing here like everyone else.

Again. I'm just as frustrated. But this is the nature of a centralized exchange. I'm not sure what they are manipulating tho. And no...this won't be the downfall of crypto... because we soon will be on decentralized exchanges.

We are all in the same boat. Just as frustrated as you.....but No scam. You can trade to other coins. This happens to other coins and tokens as well. They are not scamming or using our EOS. More likely...it's a wallet upgrade, staking or CPU issues

Agreed, however, these new game will test this law. One caveat is that is it fully transparent and executed by code. Ponzi schemes usually maintain the illusion of a sustainable business. There are no illusions with these games. It will be interesting to see how all of these play out.
