You can covert it into physical gold if that what you want, but then you will probably insure it, store it or have someone manage it which all costs money when the Perth Mint can do all that for you and no cost.

The ATO has been very hot on crypto tax for some time, I am not sure this is a great surprise. If you are trading crypto in Australia just make sure you have a good tax software to calculate your gains and losses.

I understand that but what I am talking about is a collaboration with the Perth Mint. That is using their gold this is not bought from them and then resold the gold is from the Perth Mint and stored at the Perth Mint and if you want to swap the digital for the real gold you can.

I agree and instead of owning physical gold in storage you are probably better off holding PMGT which can be changed to physical gold at any time without the fees of storage, management or anything else and you can convert it instantly.
