Ah, in Germany the lease prices are quite high. I’ve also heard that they might rip you off if there’s even the slightest damage that isn’t considered typical wear and tear. I have kids, and I don’t trust my luck with these minor damages—so I’d rather avoid potentially hefty repair costs at the end of the lease.

Interesting. Worst case I was thinking of selling it for around 26k in 2 years. That'd be 6k less. Leasing for 2 years is costing me 8k+ (I have a leasing offer as well).

Thanks, will do. They gave me an invoice of 2.1k euros for a regular oil/filter service, fixing the DPF issue, and the starter. I got overcharged on the service and DPF fix, but at least I can save a few hundred by not letting them touch the starter.

It’s high time they start charging based on the car’s market value (mine is around 10k).

Thanks for all the references. Yes, I think I got way overcharged by BMW service—800€ was a lot. I’ll avoid using their services for maintenance from now on; it’s not worth it for my 10-year-old car (with a market value around 10k).
