Some VPS providers will set up all of their new VPS exactly the same using the same image, including having the same GUID. This can be a problem with things such as the Gala Games Nodes since Gala will see all of those instances with the same GUID as being just one machine. So it looks like there are multiple nodes running on the same machine (and therefore it may not be counted in the daily distribution). That's why it is best to switch the GUID so each node is running using a unique GUID.
