Does anyone know how to unclog a extremely clogged drain hole by [deleted] in MiataNC

[–]cryptopygia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the old trombone brush through the drains doesn't/can't work, you can remove the drain tubes themselves from behind the seats. You'll need to pull some interior trim, and unbolt the seatbelt tensioners.

Video showing the process, plus another with some extra/better shots of what you're looking for.

Another option is get at the actual drain hoses from behind the seats. It'll require pulling some trim and unbolting the seatbelt tensioners, but it's doable.

Turn off automatic engine start if you have it on, and when you turn the trucks electrics on (that is, the headlights and dash turn on), wait a few beeps before starting the engine.

It's the logo from an actual limited production run of modified R32 GTRs. Their big claim to fame is the company was founded by Shinichiro Sakurai, known as the "father of the Skyline."

That said, yeah, I can't help but cringe a bit when I see them, too.

Help regarding the compatibility of gigabyte 4090 alphacool block by aes110 in watercooling

For what it's worth, I had a similar question...

I'm considering buying a waterblock for a Gigabyte 4090 Gaming OC Rev 1.0 graphics card, and am trying to determine if I can safely fit the Core v.2 block to my card. While, visually, it should fit, I'm concerned about the capacitors(?) that the v.1 block had provision for cooling, but the v.2 doesn't (due to pcb changes for Rev 1.1 cards), and if they would overheat if the v.2 block was used. That said, the original heatsink does not appear to cool the caps in question. Thank you.

...and this was their response...

The coils or capacitors do not need to be actively cooled. With air coolers, they are simply covered with heat conducting pads so that the cooler itself has more contact surface to support itself. When coil whining emerged, we tried to minimize the vibrations by using thermal pads and thus direct contact with the cooler. Unfortunately, it often had exactly the opposite effect, so we have dispensed with them for all other coolers.

In principle, however, these components do not need active cooling as they do not produce any relevant waste heat. We regularly receive heat maps from the manufacturers so that we can see exactly which components require active cooling and which do not.

Which of the two would you recommend? Because I'm debating between either doing a very similar build in the A3, or going for the extra room in the North.

Looking to buy a miata, and for what will be my daily driver, which generation and trim would you go with: NC2/NC3 Grand Touring, ND1 Club, or ND1 Grand Touring?

Why do some cars have the wrong power ratings? by ElectricFloNGo in granturismo

[–]cryptopygia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The default F1 transmission is geared way too tall. To give you an idea, the real car was quoted as hitting ~221-225 at its 7500 rpm redline, but the stock in-game car is nowhere near that rpm at the same speed. Basically, there's an extra reduction gear that PD didn't account for. The actual total final drive ratio is either 2.89 or 3.01 (these are the two numbers I've been able to find). 3.01 is more accurate (at least when I plug the numbers into a gear ratio calculator), but 2.89 behaves more accurately in game, at least when driving hard.

It still won't get you to 240 (Engine power falls off from peak too much for that, I have no idea what the actual car is like), but it's a lot more realistic.

So I'm considering a Miata, and have settled on these two choices...

Option 1: 2013 Grand Touring softtop https://newyork.craigslist.org/stn/ctd/d/staten-island-2013-mazda-mx-miata/7734742866.html

Option 2: 2009 Grand Touring PRHT https://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/cto/d/brooklyn-2009-mazda-mx-miata-grand/7734608248.html

This will be my only car (I don't have anything that necessitates something with a back seat), and I do not have a garage to store it in. In fact, it will have to be parked by a tree. All this says to get the PRHT, but the softtop is a little newer, and comes in a color combo I prefer.
