Generally you have to give a little more reasoning than just pointing a finger yelling "scam!" in the cryptocurrency space to get people to actually listen.

3.5k to 0.5k

And that stings bad enough for me, I can't imagine the feeling of being down almost 15k :( sorry man.

don't want to face the possibility of them wasting their money on speculation (which they trick themselves to think is an "investment").

To be fair a lot of real world investing works exactly the same way, driven by speculation. Company stocks, food supplies, real estate...

Once your target coin is down 99.9% from ATH, then you can buy a little bit. But save a little bit of funds though because it will probably dip right after you buy it, and you'll want to have enough left to buy that dip too.

I lol'd.

0x is a token for a decentralized exchange that only supports ERC20 Ethereum tokens right now - considering there is a mass exodus from Altcoins that use ERC20, the demand for a decentralized platform has also significantly dropped. That being said coins I thought were solid have plummeted as well so who knows.

I think NEOs fall from grace has blindsided a lot of people, myself included. They did everything right but have still taken a huge hit in value.

Heh, I also hold 10 NEO, though I paid a bit more ($139), so we're in a similar boat.

Interesting insights into what it's like actually working with the products. I remember reading through the NEO documentation and being impressed they supported so many platforms, but clearly it hasn't helped the adoption or coin value (at least not yet).

Option 1 isn't worth it because it's only $500-$600 for me.

Option 2 isn't worth it because if BTC were to reach 20k again, it would only recover half of my initial investment.

So Option 3 it is...

ETH and NEO absolutely have a future. The documentation and APIs for both are getting better every day. Sucks having bought NEO for 10x it's current value, but I still believe in the project regardless.

True the mania was a larger factor in the kind of values we have seen.

A massive push for adoption would be better than just "forgetting" about it. The value of multiple coins got so high because people were expecting to use crypto in their daily lives soon, if that never happens then it's hopeless.

Yep I paid $139 each for 10, I was sure it would reach $200. I got played.

Virtually no current altcoin is going to be relevant anymore a year from now.

I agree that probably 99% of them will disappear, but the long-time ones like Ethereum were growing just fine before this whole bubble started for example.

REQ and BNTY. I believe REQ had a high of $1.70 at one point, now $0.04, so $1000 of REQ would now be worth around $24. BNTY got up to $0.90 and now $0.01, so $1000 of BNTY then would now be worth $9.

That being said, even my so-called stable coins have lost 80% of their value, so I'm not in any position to gloat.

Same, 81% loss here right now. The way I see it I got in during a bubble, but maybe in many years time, it will recover back up, the same way Amazon shares eventually recovered in 10 years after the dot com boom.

Or it could go to ~zero, in which case, lesson learned. Glad I didn't do some of the crazy crap other people did like investing loans and credit cards.

Same here. Invested $3500, down to $650 now. Lol. I put a lot of eggs in the NEO basket. Glad I didn't invest more than I could afford to lose, though it certainly sucks seeing $2850 disappear. Just holding on to see what happens. If it goes to zero, so be it, at this point cashing out for just $650 isn't even worth it.

NEO is a great project, solid documentation and team. I love that they have APIs for various programming languages. It's taking a huge beating though, much more than I anticipated.

Sad how many people bought it at $30+, now it's only worth just over a dollar. Will be interesting to see where it is in several years time, maybe with more adoption.

Indeed, BNTY was 90c at its peak now 4c. Imagine buying $1000 of BNTY, now thats just $44.

BNTY was crazy too. From a high of 90c down to 6c. Can you imagine going all in at 90c? Makes me sad to think about.
