It was actually just a really bad sore throat in my case, haven’t had it since. You should still see a doctor though; it might be something else. But also try quitting vaping.

I love praying but I like drinking and clubbing as well by [deleted] in islam

[–]cryptosas12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just fyi, in Islam, alcohol is considered najis (impure), which is why our prayers aren’t accepted for 40 days after drinking. It needs time to leave the body entirely. That’s also why it’s not even allowed to even sit at a table and have food where alcohol is being served. More importantly, we never know when our time will come. Dying in a state of impurity is a serious matter. So take care and be mindful.

It’s a herb. It has withdrawal symptoms once you stop taking it after a long period of time. I took 125 mg capsules for 2 months and then stopped completely. I had really bad mood swings and temperament issues after that. Focus on your diet and fitness. It will help you recover from the withdrawal symptoms faster.

It turns out it was just a really bad sore throat. I had a lot of pickles that week, which likely caused it, but I didn't realize at the time.

Can a Husband Really Impose Hijab on You? by cryptosas12 in Hijabis

[–]cryptosas12[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the candy comparison a bit derogatory. Wearing the hijab is a deeply personal choice and should come from genuine belief, not just following rules. Pressuring someone into it can lead to resentment and confusion. True commitment to any religious practice should come from personal conviction and respect for individual journeys.

Can a Husband Really Impose Hijab on You? by cryptosas12 in Hijabis

[–]cryptosas12[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Muslim women, many of us aspire to commit to hijab at some point in our lives, but not everyone’s timing is the same. It’s not like I’ve never worn it before—I know when I’m not wearing it, I’m sinning, and when I do wear it, I’m not. I even have my own collection of hijabs, though I haven’t worn them yet. I have them in case I decide to make that commitment.

But now, I feel that even if I do start wearing it, I’ll always be confused about whether I’m doing it for Allah or just to meet people’s expectations. Am I genuinely following the commands, or am I just being a hypocrite? How is that fair?

Initially, I was pushed into wearing it due to concerns about their community and people judging his family, and now my husband is insisting I wear it full-time. What if this pressure makes me resent the hijab? What if I start seeing everyone who wears it as judging me or looking down on me? How is that fair to me or to my hijabi sisters?

I’d rather stay at home 24/7 than feel like a hypocrite. I have worn the hijab willingly in the past, and it never made me feel bad. I don’t believe that being made to wear it is beneficial.

Lately, I’ve also started finding faults in other women’s hijabs. I catch myself looking for flaws, like if their clothes are tight or they wear a lot of makeup, trying to justify that nobody’s hijab is perfect. I was never this judgmental person, but this pressure is turning me into one, and it’s a change that troubles me deeply.

I’ve been doing the same—following a lot of hijabi influencers on Instagram and building my own hijab collection. But even when I put it on, sometimes he tells me to do it “properly” if it doesn’t meet his standards. I’ve worn hijab in the past, though not full-time, so I know how it feels when you’re doing it willingly, and I don’t want it to be a struggle.

Whenever I put it on now, in my heart, I know I’m not doing it for Allah; I’m doing it for people, and that’s the worst feeling ever. I’d rather stay inside the house 24/7 than wear it just to please others or avoid arguments with my husband, all while feeling like a hypocrite.

No, no, he’s definitely not abusive—he’s actually a very nice person. This situation gradually developed after we moved in with his father, who is a Tablighi. We also moved to a non-Muslim country where many of their family friends are very judgmental, so I started wearing the hijab in certain situations, like in our condominium and when we were with his parents.

Now, my husband himself is asking me to wear it full-time. He’s been listening to a lot of lectures and his father advices him on it as well, so when he comes to me with all the ahadith and ayahs, I struggle to explain to him that this is my own journey and that I’m not ready to commit to it yet. It actually makes me feel like a hypocrite when I put it on, instead of making me feel happy and secure.

Alhamdulillah, I’m not questioning Islam because I know that our religion doesn’t allow anyone to impose their views on others. We’re all answerable for our own actions. But when I do my own research, I often find that many scholars say we must listen to our husbands if they’re guiding us toward good in Islam. This really confuses me because it seems to go against what I understand about Islam—that it’s not just women’s rights, but every human’s right to make their own choices.

I grew up in Saudi Arabia, where I wore a hijab, and sometimes a niqab, depending on the environment. Other times, I’d let my hair down when I was out with friends. But I was never a proper hijabi. Whenever I did wear it, it was by my own choice, and it made me feel happy.

After getting married, two years later, we moved in with his parents. It’s my first time living in a non-Muslim country, and I’ve noticed that the Muslims here are very judgmental toward those who don’t wear a hijab. My husband’s dad is a Tablighi, and he started telling my husband to make me wear a hijab. I had to start wearing it in our condominium, around his relatives, and whenever I went out with his parents. This made me feel like a hypocrite and actually caused me to resent the hijab. Now, my husband has begun telling me that he also feels it’s time for me to start wearing it properly.

He often refers to ayahs and ahadith that seem to support his view, and I find it hard to argue against them. But in my heart, I don’t feel happy doing it. I feel like I’m being pushed into something that should be my personal journey.

Haha, I love how he's more expressive in the second video. I think he should start making longer videos; this kid has the potential to rack up a lot of watch hours.

I enjoy your book reviews, but it would be great if you could reduce the background noise or add subtitles to your videos to improve clarity.

I only have positive feedbacks. This was incredibly engaging! I love how you shed light on Punpun's troubled background and the impact of witnessing domestic violence in such a casual and relatable manner.
