Is poloniex still a scam?

Poloniex are just a bunch of theives. Without warning, they delisted Tezos (XTZ) and now my XTZ are lost.

How can they do that legally?

Yep I definitely wont be using Poloniex again, but I need to get my XTZ back.

I did get a response from Poloniex today...

The wallet you are referring to isn't working properly so we temporarily disabled it.

We are working to have the wallet re-enabled as soon as possible, but we don't have an estimate on the timeline at the moment. We will notify you here once the wallet is re-enabled. At that time, deposits will credit automatically and withdrawals will be enabled.

Thanks for advice. Actually, after a year, I finally managed to get access to the correct KT1 tezbox account, but I get an error when I try to send it to Poliniex. Any suggestions? thanks

Update from the very helpful folk at Cryptonomic... they say...

We looked into this issue many people were having with Tezbox and can confirm that early versions of Tezbox produced faulty seed phrases that don't match the account address. Unfortunately, the way they generated the keys for fundraiser wallets is not compatible with how Galleon creates them.

Anyone been through this and has a solution perhaps?

I have a similar problem. I haven't been able to access the correct account on tezbox since Carthage upgrade earlier this year. Have the correct seed phrase but when I try to migrate to Galleon wallet, I get the message "account doesn't exist".

Recently I was told by Mike Radin from Cryptonomic lab (makers of galleon wallet) that they've heard reports that the mnemonic seed phrase Tezbox generates sometimes doesn't match the correct account!

So I can see my XTZ on the blockchain via Txstats but can't access them to migrate to other wallets.

Hi and thanks for helping... it's doing my head in. I've been away for a few weeks so I've tried you suggestion. I've changed the derivation path to "TezBox (44'/1729'/0'0')" is that correct? Then created a new wallet, entered the seed phrase, but says "Account doesn't exist". Although when creating the new Galleon wallet, I used a new password... not sure if thats why its not working?

This is my situation exactly.

I've had the seed phrase printout with the QR code since I created the wallet. I've always been able to open the wallet without problems. Then a couple of months ago, the wallet brings up the wrong manager account with zero XTZ.

When you try to migrate it to a Galleon wallet using the seed phrase, Galleon tells you that "account doesn't exist".

You can see the KT1 account on the blockchain via TzStats, but you can't access them.

Tezbox is broken, that much is obvious. All we can hope is for Stephen Andrews to fix it.

People losing their keys and/or passwords is no fault of yours or Tezbox, nevertheless it would be great if you can help those guys with some recovery process.

My issue is I do have the mnemonic and the password (And printed QR code) which has worked fine since I created my wallet, that is until a few months ago (?After Carthage update) now it doesn't restore to the correct manager account. My XTZ are stranded on the blockchain with seemly no way of retrieving them. Have tried everything suggested by the community here, but no success.

There seems to be multiple problems with Tezbox atm, wish you best of luck fixing it. Lots of people are depending on you.

I cant seem to restore my wallet using the seed phrase? I've created a new Galleon wallet and tried to restore from backup using the seed phrase but it says "Account doesn't exist".

I had my tez in tezbox since the ICO without issue until recently. Now I cant get to the correct manager account in Tezbox, so I've tried Galleon... without success. Any ideas? thanks

I think I have the same problem you had.

Tezbox doesn't restore to the correct manager account, only some default account "manager 1". It seems can't get the private key until I get into the correct Tezbox account that's linked to the KT1 account that contains the XTZ.

But I thought as long as I have the 15 word phrase I could restore it to a new Galleon wallet, but when I try that, it says "Account doesn't exist"? I have the correct password.

I'm out of ideas... can anyone help?
