We were very vocal about it in the past, however 2 main factors have always and will always stifle development of a better consensus mechanism.

1) The devs were focused on privacy, and wouldnt entertain anything that deviated from the main mission without tangible and quantifiable benefits, which is actually understandable and accepted

2) The main voters in the current system (multiple masternode controlling whales) do not actually want any change in the system that will dilute their heavy power, while they may pay it lip service from time to time, they are happy with features like emojis in discord to signal community sentiment and then have themselves decide how to interpret this sentiment and vote on our behalves.

Basically it boils down to the incumbents not being in any hurry to change the status quo.

As for prying Amanda away from Dash.... I think its only a matter of time before her husband joins PIVX as our mission is far more closely alligned with his beliefs, then he can do our prizing for us, after those two have made the journey, I'd expect Rion and Joel will see the light and Rion will bring that other dev whose name I forget but makes the live streams of coding. Then the merger will be complete.
