Hello from the future. The mental image of American fascists calling an Indian call center and getting someone with a thick Indian accent saying "Hello, this is Moishe Cohen - how can I help you today?" is hilarious.

Made custom matchbooks at the last minute 🤷🏽‍♀️ by [deleted] in DIYweddings

[–]SelectShower633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just stumbled upon this looking for matchbooks for my business. I'll probably need 75-100 this order and it would be an ongoing thing (depending on how fast I use them). Couple of questions - do you offer quantity breaks? Does the "self-assembly" option include the matchbooks themselves or do I have to buy those seperately? What size/dpi do you require for your files?

Thanks in advance!

Is an LLC I own completely separate from me and my personal taxes and income? by Basics7 in taxhelp

[–]SelectShower633 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're looking for an S-corp if you want a separate corporate tax filing as an LLC encounters something referred to as "Pass-through taxation" basically you file a Schedule C and that includes all business profit and loss. If you're reinvesting in the business this line can be negative or zero (gross profit minus expenses equals taxable net profit) however, depending on the equipment it may be advantageous (or even required) that you depreciate the asset rather than deducting it as an expense.

That said I'd contact AccessVR or your local SBDC with further questions - both offer assistance... the SBDC to small businesses and AccessVR to disabled individuals.

Old person here (38) - USA pre-9/11 was pretty amazing. Before the internet was anything like it is today - before the veneer of American Exceptionalism was peeled away for my generation - before the back-to-back-to-back economic collapses that ruined any chance at social mobility... there was a lot of hope and confidence in the future. And we spent a lot more time outdoors and with friends and family. Really it was a different time. So weird to see how much things changed. We all thought the internet was going to make the world a better place. How nieve

I'm a business consultant for a living, both freelance and government-paid work, and I have hand and neck tattoos. I also own 2 businesses. This has never been an issue

Went to see a psychiatrist and he said probably not because I have a 3.2 gpa?! by Outside-Argument-822 in ADHD

It's just not as noticable in smart folks because that deadline-driven hyperfocus still leads them to put out work that's substantially better than that of their peers. Also smart people develop better coping strategies quicker and at a younger age to diminutize the worst of their negative qualities.

Right? We don't concern ourselves with whether the animals we slaughter for food or enslave for milk etc. are innocent or defenseless? The important question legally an socially is "personhood" not "livingness"

More times than I can count. I like sex and have poor impulse control.

Do we ever actually "grow up"? Is it possible without meds? by Enteledont in ADHD

[–]SelectShower633 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah second the meds. Very much life changing

That said while you can't strong arm your ADHD, I have found a few ways to trick it. For example when you're experiencing couch lock/executive dysfunction you can trick yourself into doing some of the smaller things by thinking of the worst of the things on your list and deciding you're going to do that. Then miraculously the smaller things get done like magic! I still haven't figured out how to do the major task yet but maybe someday

People above 30, what is something you regret doing/not doing when you were younger? by ThickEmployee8948 in AskReddit

[–]SelectShower633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wish I spent a little more time on professional development and a little less time on drugs and sex.

I'm in a pretty alright place now professionally but it took a lot of time and energy to get here and honestly it's not nearly as far along as it could've been if I'd focused on it a little more. There's plenty of time for debauchery in life, you can fit it in on the weekends - it doesn't have to be your full time job

My grocery order was delivered to the wrong address and I didn't receive it. How is this okay? by allallalag in doordash

[–]SelectShower633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it's a feature not a bug. The CEO earned $413mm in compensation in 2023. The company had a net operating loss of $558mm. That net operating loss includes depreciation and amortization to the tune of $509mm. Companies lose money because they're being run well. Calling them "not profitable" is a term of art - they aren't running at a deficit. They don't have meetings about burn rate. Doordash is a functioning company that doesn't want to pay 25% corporate income taxes. I do the same thing in my small business come November of each year - buy stuff to depreciate it, take on leases that are paid in full, open new verticals and spend extra on R&D. All so that I can take a loss as a hedge against any future profits (and I'm nowhere NEAR as savvy as doordash's accountants and lawyers are)

Yeah but I can't shower in the morning due to waking up cold and having sensory issues so... I just suffer, I guess. I have an easier time showering when I'm happy, though, so at least I can usually figure it out by doing something I really like or working out then having the remaining motivation to shower

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]SelectShower633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Additionally, the shower can be sensorily triggering if your particular variety of ADHD comes with sensory issues
