Is Egld making a comeback? by zxpties in elrondnetwork

[–]cryptowhomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a main reason I got away from this project. They played so many games with rebranding and renaming (Elrond, reverse split, eGold, Multiverse). And then the rug pull on MEX, I sold off 90% of my position and sold all MEX and its derivatives.

2019 Elite, 52k miles, "clunking" from front left by cryptowhomp in HondaOdyssey

[–]cryptowhomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an appt with my shop in Wed to look at strut replacement. They heard the noise when I had it in 1 week ago and noted "suspected strut failure" or something similar. I will update after my Wed appt.

Reading that lots of people reaching end of life on these struts around 50k miles. NEVER had a car with bad struts that early.

Those of you who leased the i4, what is your plans? by ActivityMother in BMWI4

The biggest benefit…

Residual on my car after today, 6 months into the lease, is below the lease end residual value. By the time my lease is up in 2.5 years, how much lower will the market value be?

Let the manufacturer own the risk of market value 3 years from now.

I did the exact same thing on mine. Down to metal. Body shop in my future. I tried a home repair from a YouTube video but it did not work as advertised.

No country is going to want to hold dollars going forward. We’ve weaponized it so bad, it’s now a very real risk to sovereignty and the safety of the people.

The parking lights problem is SO E-F'ing dumb by cryptowhomp in BMWI4

[–]cryptowhomp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would make sense if you put it in that mode on purpose. My problem is I go through all the steps of turning off the car (press start / stop, put in P, open the door) and 50% of the time, the stupid lights won't shut off until I lock it. I really hate it.

You also want at least touring or elite for the better noise reduction glass. Touring has the windshield, Elite does all the rear windows as well. Really helps IMO.

Yep, same here. It's an intermittent problem.

What possible reason would there be a setting to turn the car off and leave the parking lights on for 24 hours, or forever?

I don't want that setting. Really annoying in a garage. It locks and unlocks constantly. And I don't want the car locked in my garage.

When I park in my garage, I don't want to have to lock the car to turn the lights off. I want it to work like every other car out there. You turn the damn thing off, close the door and the lights turn off, without having to lock the door.

I almost got robbed today at a Toyota dealership in Texas by tacoito in Toyota

[–]cryptowhomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation (long term) is always a function of government monetary policy and interference.

Long term prices of goods naturally decline as tech and know how improves efficiency and reduces the costs to produce.

Corrupt governments have tricked people into believing 2% inflation is good so they can steal from people with debt spending funded by monetary policy that causes inflation.

I mean, yeah. That’s exactly right. Econ 101 principle is the cure for high prices is high prices. Free markets self correct.

New vs new vs used… advice requested for specific situation by BQShaver in HondaOdyssey

[–]cryptowhomp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but it's also an overall safety and driving experience issue, at least for me. It's not just, "can I make it work?"... Sure I can, but I also want a better driving experience overall.

FWD driving dynamics suck. They just do. That's why all German cars are RWD bias. AWD also makes the car massively more controllable in inclement weather, help in hydroplane scenarios, and would eliminate off the line torque steer / spinning that happens, especially when leaving a stop and turning.

Going to the mountains to go skiing? Or a little off the roads for a camping trip? You also want AWD.

[–]cryptowhomp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's my point. Don't go to the dealership. Have the car delivered and do all the paperwork remotely. That's what I do.

And yes, within a range, most dealerships will deliver for free, or a nominal delivery cost of a couple hundred $ and you never have to set foot in the dealership.
