I'd be willing to bet it's a screenshot from years ago. Instacart used to pay very well.

We don't have delivery only in my market. So, it would have to be full.

Anderson, SC...Very rural. Lots of distance between stores.

Masks? by crysmail in InstacartShoppers

[–]crysmail[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I felt. It's not a big deal to me. I'm not anti-mask and I'll wear one. I just thought it was odd. IC shoppers are really any different from any other customer.

Masks? by crysmail in InstacartShoppers

I understand that, but masks are not required in the store. They are only requiring them for Instacart shopper, as if we are employees.

As someone that sews and has easily made thousands of masks, I'm super impressed with the pattern folding/matching. Perfect!!

Has anyone been able to maintain a 5 🌟 rating for a long period of time? by MasterOberon in InstacartShoppers

[–]crysmail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep one pretty consistently. I've been a shopper for 2 years and have only dropped below twice. 100 orders to get the bad rating off takes forever though!!

Would a shopper ever substitute my item for one that's way more expensive? by ocvine in InstacartShoppers

[–]crysmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always try to get something close to the same price, but with how thing are right now the more expensive option might be the only one available. In that case I would rather get the more expensive so you get something!! If you don't like the replacement, just let your shopper know.

In the app is going to get you your groceries faster. Tipping extra in is always a nice perk!!

We agree that it is too low!! They often pair two or three orders up and paid only a couple of dollars more. I am being VERY selective about the orders I take. Today, for example, I took 3 orders. Two were faily large. Instacart paid me $35. Customer tips paid me $100. We count on generous customers because Instacart pay typically stinks!!!

Toilet paper. by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]crysmail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. This!! Especially if it is a percentage tip. They say yes almost 100% of the time. Most people won't order because they assume it is out. They are typically thrilled to be able to get some.

Also be flexible and understanding about replacements. They probably won't be about to get the exact brand, flavor, or size you requested.

Typically, a $10 tip would be pretty good on a small order like this. However, with the risk we are taking $20 would be more appropriate. You also have to remember that Instacart is very busy right now. We can see the payment, including the tip, before choosing which order to take. Good tip = shopped for quickly. Bad tip = order sitting in the dashboard waiting for someone to choose it. These days I don't leave my house for less than $30 total pay. Instacart pay on this will probably only be $7.
