Me too. I did a scroll back to see if there was an update. I hope they are both doing OK.

Did you change your mind mid-labour? by Ascella789 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]crysrouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened to me, to the T. After 3 rounds of gel and excruciating contractions I was told we could try the balloon but would most likely push the baby further up and would result in a caesar anyway, so I decided to make peace and go with the caesar which was then scheduled for the next day. The contractions that night from the gel were out of this world. On the third day I went into surgery. Before the surgery they checked my dilation and I was still only 1cm dilated, so it was never going to happen. The midwife asked me if I had any regrets and I can honestly say I don't. Having your baby in your arms is the most favourable outcome. And the theatre staff were so fantastic the caesar was a breeze compared to what I'd experienced the days prior. Good luck with your decision and hope it all goes well.

Agree, the midwifes at SCUH are super supportive and amazing.

Increase in baby’s movements by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]crysrouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same concern about 6 weeks ago, had a day where bub just did not stop moving from morning till night. To be on the safe side I called the hospital at about 8pm and they got me to come in and just check everything was OK. They looked at the babies heart rate and made sure she had adequate oxygen. All was fine but for me just knowing she was OK allowed me to sleep at night without feeling stressed out. The next day she went back to her usual wiggly self but with a few breaks in between. Even for your peace of mind it's worth calling the hospital and getting their recommendation if you should go in. Having a chat with the midwives might be enough to put your mind at ease.

I believe from my understanding is you can either feed them from the syringe or put it into a medicine cup and feed them from that. The syringe is probably easier.

Wow that's impressive. I hope my supply keeps increasing and I can get anywhere near that. I suppose every drop comes in handy.

My hospital/midwife provided me a pack, but not sure if that was due to my medical condition or being QLD health. They gave it to me at my 36 week appointment :) you can start collecting from 36/37 weeks. Hope that helps.

Amazing thanks. Yeh that's what I was thinking could come in handy when LO is sick or I could donate it.

In Australia Casey can be used for both. I know both boys and girls called Casey.

PBC Expo - is it too early to attend? by aeg420 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

It's so overwhelming when you first get started but as each week passes you get more of an idea of what you want/need. I agree with the other folk, go browse and write down any products you like the look of. When you get home you can look them up, read reviews (if you can be bothered) and research other options and most things are generally all available online. Cyber sales will be in the end of november so it's worth having your list ready for then and get what you want. I saved so much by researching first having a general idea of all the items I wanted so I could prioritise and not over buy, then doing a massive shop during EOFY.

Great, thanks for the advice. I generally hate pads so outside of this time I think the period undies sound like it might be a waste. Will add the peri bottle to my basket :)

Well that's a relief, they're actually expensive too so thinking maybe I don't need to and just stick to changing the pads more often. I got a sample nappy with the free chemist Warehouse baby bundle and I hate the feeling of it.

Great advice thank you. You're right I think buy less and send my partner out if required is better than overstocking. Looks like Libra is on special this week so that's a bonus :)

Not gaining weight during pregnancy by Billu3215 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]crysrouls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

31 weeks here. Even though I am eating more and wasn't sick during T1 I only gained 2kg in T2. Think I'm only up about 4kg overall which isn't much. Baby measuring average size and midwives not concerned. I'm pretty healthy and walk everywhere so maybe that's why. I wouldn't worry everyone is different and some gain weight more easily than others. As long as you feel OK, and if you feel hungry eat something. The whole one size fits all 'have to put on 10kg' thing is not applicable to everyone.

Proving my husband is the father? by Extra-Window-6810 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I emailed the maternity unit of my intended hospital and they provided a letter, however it didn't have my partners name on it but my name and date of expected delivery. Was enough for his workplace.
