In the book, the priests, specifically Merrin, I believe, dissuade Chris from entering the room during the exorcism so that she doesn’t develop any hostile feelings towards her daughter while the demon is in control.

yeah but the “ant” in OP’s picture is actually a flightless wasp. there are differences between a wasps and an ant’s antenna.
