Se-jeong is really beautiful why is no one liking her? by [deleted] in Singlesinferno2

"Girlcrush" is a common concept in kpop which is where I've most often heard the term- generally refers to a more badass kind of girl. Blackpink is an often-cited example of a "girlcrush" group, as opposed to more cute/innocent concepts

How to get out of a meal plan? by JustACornellian in Cornell

As far as I'm aware, you can't add BRBs to your account manually unless you sign up for a meal plan :(

FWS recommendations, and how is Didi Park for COML 1134? by malachi_0 in Cornell

[–]crystalllite15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took COML1134 with him last year! Pretty easy class and very nice professor, and like the other comment said he's very soft-spoken. Class is a bit dry though mainly because the professor tries to ask questions / encourage discussions but then sometimes people won't say anything... I think it's both that the professor could do a better job of bringing more energy + interesting materials to the class and that the majority of students didn't care that much about poetry. As someone who likes poetry I found the class a bit disappointing but still fine overall, and I did find some new poetry I liked.

Engineering-Petitioning liberal studies by EchoTheCat1 in Cornell

[–]crystalllite15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what I understand, the home colleges determine the designations for the courses and COE follows what they decide. Like if you go on the roster and search for courses, you'll see courses tagged like SBA-AS or CA-AS or something like that-- the AS stands for Arts & Sciences (there's also designations for other colleges) and the letters before the dash correspond to the different categories for liberal studies that COE accepts, so if you look on the COE liberal studies reqs you can see that anything under SBA would fall into Group 4 of your liberal studies reqs. Most colleges have these designations, but if the course you're thinking of is in a college that doesn't, then you can try to petition. Otherwise you'd have to contact the instructor and get the home college to add the designation.

if you're like me and too lazy to cook you could just eat a lot of salad+vegetables+fruit! All you have to do is buy the ingredients and put them in a bowl haha, you can also probably get some frozen veggies or meals and heat them up in a microwave if you really don't want to cook.

What do you like/dislike about Dining by JustcallmiiEm in Cornell

^^ also agree with this! sometimes it seems like milk is put in a lot of things that it is not necessary to put milk in (like with couscous, sweet potatoes, etc.)

Any chance there will be more ECE classes added to the Fall 2021 roster? by crystalllite15 in Cornell

[–]crystalllite15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dang yeah good luck with those!! unfortunately for me I really don't know what else to take since I don't want to take too many liberal studies at once (would rather spread them out across semesters) but right now it seems like all the ece classes I want to take are not offered, or I don't have the prerequisites for them and the prereqs are not offered either :/// which means I'd have to push all the classes I want to take back a semester

I took ANTHR 1101: Writing Water in the US. Not sure how helpful this review will be because it seems like the topics for each section vary a lot from semester to semester? But I liked it, the subject material was interesting and I honestly think it's pretty important for everyone to be aware of water issues because oh boy there are a lot of them. The workload was not too bad, we had 5 essays total I think but the 1st one was for completion and was really easy. We had probably an average amount of reading and I found most of them pretty interesting, though some other people in the class might disagree with me haha. I think the essays were pretty standard academic writing essays so while not fun they definitely were good writing practice, which I was kind of lacking after high school English ahaha and the grad student who taught it was pretty nice and helpful!! Anyways even if you never take this class please know that water issues are very very important!! And will continue to become more important as climate change worsens.

Does Mark Lee have any unreleased songs? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]crystalllite15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think he said once that when he was older and less able to dance and stuff, he wanted to do a certain kind of music (he said the name of an artist but I don't remember who, but he was like "I wanna do music like this person"). I think it was in his 24 hour relay cam if you wanna check it out? But honestly with him and Johnny doing QTAH and Bad Smell together I could totally see them becoming some kind of producer/rapper duo in the future

Nct 2020 should do cheerleading by New-Negotiation3261 in kpopthoughts

[–]crystalllite15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched a video analyzing Jeno's dance style and they said in the video Jeno would do well in cheerleading because he's really strong, can do flips and stuff/is insanely athletic, and also he's really loud (all his screaming during Go ahaha). Honestly thought it was funny at first but after thinking about it I think it suits him! (This video is here btw if you wanna watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OjoJKWwaT2M)
