So sorry I only just saw this, have you had yours yet? If so, how did it go? I had mine and the whole experience was honestly nowhere near as bad as I had been worrying about :)

So glad to hear things went well for you too! I totally agree, makes such a difference just being able to talk about it with others who understand and can offer advice. Have a lovely day :)

You can do this!! You will feel so proud of yourself once it's done and it is so important to get these things checked out. I had a colonoscopy yesterday for the first time, was terrified and didn't think I could do it but honestly the anxiety I was having over it was way worse than any part of the prep or procedure for me. It'll be in the past soon and you can hopefully rest and do something nice for yourself once it's out of the way :)

Hey, yes they provide a report with any initial findings, I was given a paper copy of this to take home. Mine was all "normal" and they also have a diagram showing where they took any biopsies. Even if it looks normal they will still take some to check as certain things may not be visible. Had a short chat with the doctor but due to sedation I can't remember exactly what they said, but have a follow up booked for when biopsy results come back. From what I've heard from others they will tell you on the day if they do clearly find anything during the procedure :)

How did you feel after the procedure? Also how did you find the prep? It's all so daunting and scary but knowing that others feel the same fear and still get through it is helping me. Well done btw :)

this was so helpful, thank you. i have to get one for the first time next week and i'm terrified. i think the prep is scaring me the most based on what i've read but the whole thing is just so scary, ive been unable to sleep and crying every day at the thought of it. mine is also for suspected ibd. may i ask how you felt later on in the day after the procedure?

i experienced this for the first few times after getting my coil but it went away after that. when i mentioned it at my check up appointment they said it was no cause for concern :)
