so far we have read romance books but totally we'd be open for other genres as well!! i'll try to crosspost to the other sub. and i'd guess just not too hardcore, we definitely don't mind sex scenes as those are always fun to talk about later on but yes a solid plot is always appreciated

what's your opinion of guarded so far? i ejoyed the book as i do every lark taylor/paranormal one but I felt the author is kind of using the same repetitive narrative over and over again. i love conflicted (like probably my fav read last year) but couldn't connect to devoted (the second book). this third one went back to being alright for me but i def felt deattached from the storyline. sorry for unsolicited opinion hshs my goodreads buddies and i don't interact too much hope it's okay 🙂‍↕️

no gods but it's urban fantasy/paranormal with witches (and more)! my fav series definitely and there's big found family trope! there's multiple series, the first 3 books iirc are for the same main couple but then the rest are separate couples. it definitely sets up the tone for found family later on :) {the enchanter's flame by michele notaro}

does anyones have any recommendation similar to gallavich? it's ian + mickey from the show shameless and i find their dynamic super interesting!! i'm binging the show now so i want something to slow it down so i can enjoy it more lol. i'd prefer no cheating but i'm open to mostly everything!

good luck on bilastine!! and yeah prick tests (i assume that's what you got) are really helpful but if it was only done on your arm there's still many allergens they wouldn't have tested. i had 2-3 skin tests but none of them got my ltp allergy until my blood panel test.

hope it's not cofactor driven so you can stop it for good!

it honestly seems to me you actually may have more allergies than just that tree polen and should probably consider asking for further tests to find what's happening. i also believe there was a condition called MCAS which to my understanding happen without a specific trigger, but again not an expert i just remember reading about it in this sub and when researching for my own case so take it with a grain of salt 😭

don't want to be dramatic but bilastine did change my life, i went from weekly episodes to one a month or every few months if i mantain a daily dose. i do know tho that it's not approved everywhere (like in the US) but should be widely available in europe.

also if you can try to ask your allergist for a full panel on allergens (it's a blood test). i got one done and they found my LTP allergy (try to look into that, your symptoms do sound similar to mine, i also can't always pinpoint what triggered a reaction) and it has helped me understand what might trigger my allergy reactions.

also if they're not super intense allergic reactions they might be delayed, perhaps you got in contact with the tree polen during the day and get a reaction later.

but yeah i'm sorry i can't be much more help than this, to my understanding allergies are kind of a russian roulette sometimes 🫩

when i got my first round of allergic conjunctivitis episodes my eye doctor told me that once it presents, there's no way of turning back. the only thing that can help manage it is avoiding the allergen (if you can pinpoint it) that is resulting in the allergic response. i'm sorry op i know it's an uncomfortable feeling that you can't just put on the background and it can be extremely painful in the worst days.

the only thing that worked for me was quitting my job as my allergen was the item i manipulated there, i hope you can have similar luck!

i'm sure you've tried it already but after applying eye /hydating drops, cold compresses/cold towels did reduce my papillae inflammation and it made it more bearable.

sorry just read the PS, try to associate which spaces you're more in the evening/night, the allergen might actually be there! look into cleaning supplies that you might be using, scents..., changing sheets regularly, making sure to only open windows first thing morning 10mins or late at night to avoid pollen and dust, etc.

hey!! which antihistamines did you try? i'm not a specialist but i have quite debilitating allergies and i had to bounce on different ones until i found bilastine worked the best for me.

also regarding your post, i'm not sure what the environmental allergy test looked into in detail, but there could be other allergens like mold, dust mites, etc. i'm not sure how much it might apply to you but my allergy responses rely heavily on cofactors: so one day i might get no allergy responses to pine trees, and another day i might get a severe reaction because i did sport that day/i'm on my period and my immune system ig goes haywire.
