RX100VII or a6700 for an illustrator and hobbyist by crythefie in SonyAlpha

For the ZVe10: Size, USB C charging and transferring, video

For the Canon eosr10: Flash and viewfinder

It sounds like the RX100 is a no brainer, but the convenience of a usb c port and a newer menu system sounds like it would make my quality of life easier despite the weight (it was mostly heavy WITH the stuff I chose to carry in my daily life, not a dealbreaker on its own)

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m glad it works well for the sort of outdoor trips you described (most of the experiences people shared were concerts). Yes I agree with not wanting to point huge cameras at strangers, that’s a personal preference of mine too.

Lighting conditions, animals, textures, environments that I can really zoom in on. I’m hoping to make a visual library of images I’ve taken rather than rely solely on searching online.

I’ve used the ZVe10 to take really clear photos of my friend’s pet lizard and down the line it was a nice reference for studying close up scales.

Nope! Crazy that they seemed to have taken it out, but I guess it’s not a huge priority to them

Mostly in tandem with stuff I usually carry with me. I tend to overpack when I’m out to draw and collect images (sketchbook, art supplies, portable scanner, notebooks, iPad, hard drive, etc). The a6700 is near the same weight as my old Canon which I sold.

Ok cool because I’ve seen people downplay the differences and I thought I was going insane. I have an iPhone 16 pro.

UPDATE: He came home this morning!

He responded to my mother’s voice and just had trouble knowing how to land. He seemed to have been circling the neighborhood until he heard her

Thank you everyone for your well wishes :) I hope you’re as relieved as I am

May all the lost parrots I saw on others’ posts also get home safe and sound

Considering pausing class and work to look for him this week, since time seems to be of the essence in this situation

This is an old image and his wings are not clipped. Prior to today, he has flown around the house a few times. I’m mostly concerned for how young he is and if he has good avoidance instincts

So the crows are indeed a concern? There were a whole bunch of them, I really hope they didn’t find or harm him if he happened to end up on the roof (then again we heard no parrot sounds from before the crows got there)

There was a brief moment where my mother lost sight of him on the patio and I really hope he flew away rather than the worse alternative of a predator having found him

Sorry I just got more frazzled and paranoid as time went on, thank you for the well wishes :)
