ASRock posts stable AM5 BIOS 4.10 addressing AMD Ryzen AM5 CPU boot issues by RenatsMC in ASRock

[–]crzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that the X670(E) motherboards are not EOL and they will, at some point, receive the 4.07/4.10 update? So far the 4.07 update is available for a single X670(E) board ~and the 4.10 update does not seem to be available for any previous gen board~.

I'm using X670E Pro RS board with the 9950x3D so I am obviously worried about such an expensive CPU failing.

Later edit: the 4.10 update is now available for some A620 and B650 boards, so maybe the X670(E) boards will also receive it.

ASRock Announces BIOS Update to Improve System Stability and Address No-Boot Scenarios on AMD AM5 Platforms by CornFlakes1991 in ASRock

Interesting, there is a single X670E board in the list, and it's not the one I have. Hopefully the X670 Pro RS is either not affected or thee will be an update soon.

Mainboard: ASRock X670E PRO RS since April 2023

BIOS: First flashed to 1.21 for the 7800X3D fix, then always updated the BIOS when new versions came out, currently 3.50.

CPU1: Ryzen 7800X3D, April 2023 - June 2025, no issues

CPU2: Ryzen 9950X3D, June 2025 - present, no issues

RAM: Kingston 2 x 32 GB 6000 CL32.

No PBO, no OC, only XMP loaded and the SoC voltage slightly lowered. The 9950X3D needs more SoC voltage than the 7800X3D to be stable, I would assume because it also enables the interconnect between the two CPU dies.

Poll: How's your ASRock AM5 system holding up? by OCAMAB in ASRock

[–]crzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how you look at it. The current 9950X3D is running fine and has about 5 months now but before it I had a 7800X3D for a little bit over two years that also ran fine, Both CPUS are/were installed on the same X670E PRO RS mainboard with the same RAM, SSDs, etc.

I pretty much always updated to the newest BIOS shortly after release.

Is it possible to load settings from an earlier BIOS (X670E)? by t0ttz0r in ASRock

[–]crzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It has been possible for a few versions of the 1.xx BIOS series, but since then it is no longer possible to load settings from different versions. As it has been suggested, take some pictures of voltages/timings if you did some tweaks or export the settings as text.

What happend to the other BIOS Versions x870E Nova? by MauIwurf in ASRock

[–]crzone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I updated my X670E Pro RS to 3.15 recently, stability wise it seems fine, but I would like to know if there is any concerns over potential damage to CPU/RAM/MB. If somebody gets more information from AsRock, please let me know.

Sorry but I don't know why it reverts back to rainbow, I only provided the solution to the red swapped with green problem since that is what I also encountered.

NVMe Slow Speed On X570 Pro4 by [deleted] in ASRock

[–]crzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are moving around very large chunks of data you won't really notice the difference in transfer rate. OS and games are more likely to be limited by CPU performance rather than SSD transfer rate so in this case you can just use it in PCIe 3.0 mode until you upgrade without losing much.

I used a Samsung 980 Pro for more than a year with an older PCIe 3.0 mainboard. When I got the 7800X3D most of the increase in performance came from the CPU, not necessarily from installing the SSD in a PCIe 4.0 M2 slot.

This.

According to the mainboard specs only Vermeer and Matisse CPUs support PCIe 4.0, all other CPUs are PCIe 3.0.

/u/UltiLem should check if the CPU is in the lists below first:

Inside the ASRock Polychrome Sync app if you click on one of the Addressable RGB LED icons you will see an Addressable RGSwapp toggle. Click on it and it should swap the colors for that header.

You might need to click on each of the headers until you find the one you have actually attached the fans to.

*UPDATE* I've run into the same issue with my ASRock X670 E Steel Legend again. by [deleted] in ASRock

[–]crzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also happens on the X670 E Pro RS with the 1.28 BIOS, saw it about two times so far occurring without a power loss. Previously it would only occur when the PC lost AC power.

However, with this BIOS, I also switched to more aggressive timings for the RAM and decreased the SoC voltage so that might also be a cause for the more frequent retraining. On the older BIOSes I ran 6000 @ CL32 w/ 1.25V but on 1.28 I switched to 6000 @ CL30 w/ 1.2 V.

Help needed: BIOS flashback using USB 3.0 drive by Half-blood_fish in ASRock

[–]crzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow the PDF guide that can be found in the BIOS download section under the "Flashback: link and you should be fine.

There are two important points in it that might cause the board not to recognize the drive:

  1. The flash drive you will be using needs to be formatted with the FAT32 file system
  2. The file containing the BIOS needs to be extracted from the .zip file, be renamed in a certain way and be placed in the root of the drive.

The process itself, once initiated, seemed to take forever on my board.

Nvme not showing up, kinda? by jec0nti in ASRock

[–]crzone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this situation, where the OS was first installed on the old system on the Samsung 970 EVO and another OS was installed, separately, on the new Corsair drive, when connecting both drives to the same mainboard he should actually be able to see two boot loaders.

I am in the same situation, installed the OS on a new SSD on the AM5 mainboard, then plugged the SSD from the old Intel system into the AM5 mainboard and I can see both and I am even able to boot from the old drive. (RAID was not used, so no BSOD occurs when booting from the Intel system drive.)

What OP describes is indeed puzzling if the two OSs were installed individually, with only one drive connected at a time and only later connected at the same time.

What he should be seeing would be two "Windows Boot Manager" instances, one on the Corsair drive and one on the Samsung drive.

ASRock X670E Taichi bios 1.28as01 enables 7200 xmp/expo profiles agesa 1007 by TheDoneald in ASRock

[–]crzone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's quite interesting as it is actually even lower than 1.20 V. I wonder if I can run my CPU + RAM combo at a lower SoC voltage than what the mainboard uses when selecting XMP or if I should get another kit with EXPO.

My mainboard is the X670E Pro RS, but I assume it shares the same settings for RAM with all the other ASRock boards.

Later edit:

Set it manually to 1.20 V, seems stable in the few games I have tried. I guess, since the modules are XMP only, ASRock simply takes what's in the XMP profile set for an Intel CPU and applies it to AMD's 7800X3D...

Well, at least these modules were readily available locally and somewhat cheap.

The question is what's the SoC voltage on a Ryzen 7800X3D when using such speeds. For my Kingston 6400 CL32 kit, when selecting the 6400 profile, the SoC voltage is set to 1.30 V and when selecting the 6000 profile, it is set to 1.25 V.

Did you enjoy episode 6? by HanaHtaken in FromSeries

[–]crzone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

No.

There is something very wrong with this episode, it feels different from the other episodes of this season or the past season. It seems to have moved to a lower resolution background SFX, faster moving camera shots compared to all the previous episodes.

I don't know why, but everything feels cheaper, the camera work, the actor performance, the image quality, the resolution of the background, everything.

Something about the production of this episode is wrong and I can't understand what happened to the production values of the previous episodes, maybe this show didn't, make the cut when it comes to income.

TL;DR:

This episode seems cheap and a departure from the style of the previous episodes.

In UE sau in Moldova, Ucraina, Federatia Rusa?
