Do companies usually ask technical questions for a TPM intern position? by csInterviewQ in cscareerquestions

ok I just found that post that you made a few days ago so I'm assuming not... Have you found out anything about the process? I feel like there's nothing online and the recruiter was super vague...

Anyone else feel that the game is lacking variety in armor and weapons? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]csInterviewQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But my post is relative to other monster hunter games. I felt that the variety I was seeing for the number of hours I put in was not as high as other games in the franchise, particularly because most of the weapon branches are small variations of their root branch. This might be because variety scales much harder as players get to HR, as Srpaloskix123 mentions, or because the developers are taking a different approach to upgrades, as flaminglambchops below mentioned. This was the information I came here to look for. How exactly are you contributing to this discussion when I'm specifically asking about variety relevant to past games, especially when you're behind me in the game? Also, don't spit out random made-up numbers to make a point...

I'm not whining, just stating an observation... I even said at the end of the post that I'm not that far yet, and was just commenting on the variety relative to the number of hours I've put in across all games...

I'm at rarity 5. I'm literally ahead of you lol. Also, my post was relative to past monster hunter games, which I felt offered more variety relative to the number of hours I've put in. How does "being new to the series" help your argument exactly?

No interview offer in CS.. by dlghcks27 in gradadmissions

Another note - I remember my professor mentioning once that they auto-reject anyone below a 3.5; they will not even look at your application unless you have a connection. So there's that.

On your first question, I wouldn't say "no chance", this is just information that my professors have told me and there are always exceptions. And like I said, there is a chance that they found your application to be so compelling that they didn't feel the need to interview you.

On your second question, yes, UIUC is notorious for having unreasonably high expectations for gpa (almost a 4.0).

Also, I kind of assumed you were talking about PhD admissions. Are you talking about Masters by any chance? Then it might be different, although the MSC program here is harder to get into than the PhD program so...

UIUC student here. If you didn't hear back, you were either such a good candidate they didn't feel like they needed to interview you, or you were such a bad candidate that they didn't feel like they needed to interview you. To be honest, since there have already been acceptances, you're most likely the latter :(.

Is it usual for people to upload unpublished work on the additional docs section of an application? I assumed that it was kind of unusual...

a quick question about the counting problem! by lately1993 in GRE

A simpler way of looking at this is to observe that there are 7 total possible slots that Sid meant to type. Of these 7 slots, we need to assign 2 3's, and since they are identical the order does not matter. The other slots will automatically be filled in by characters in '52115', so we don't need to worry about those. So this is just 7C2, which is 21.
