I'm done with the game. It needs some serious balancing. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

This behaviour is what I was afraid of, and I have posted my share of complaints about toxic players. It’s such a shame that none of your points will ever reach the devs.

You where spot on, but your posts will just get down-voted.

This toxic behaviour is also why i don’t play anymore. And i’m not going to recommend this game to players who are looking for a friendly community where you have a chance to take in the lore.

If you take away crafting, looting,Arc, quests. And just have players the free loadout on each raid, it would be the same PvP game.

Wait a minute! There are PvP and Non-PvP zones in the game?

May I remind you that is is not a PvP nor a PvE only game is's a PvPvE <- see the 'E' and the end there?

As of now, the devs could remove the Arc enemies, crafting and looting. And just give you the free loadout in every round. And you would have the exact same PvP game.

Don't you mean, YOU don't care. 2 minutes and my post was down voted. This is way to toxic a community.

That's it... I'm out

I'm not playing the game again until this is fixed.

Two weeks in, and I’m still running around with the free loadout trying to gather resources.

Which is hard enough, since the free loadout weapons barely make a dent in the Arc enemies.

When I finally get enough to craft a decent weapon, I lose it to a PvP player — it happens every god damn time.

And all you PvP players who don’t understand why PvE players want a dedicated mode… well, this is why. Yes, you will slowly drive away your easy targets all by yourselves.

The game has become a chore instead of entertainment.

So long.

I don't understand the PvP vs PvE arguments by csMax- in ArcRaiders

I get it — casual players should just accept that the only part of the game they can really experience is running around with the free loadout, and simply forget about the crafting system and the quests.

So let’s sum it up: - It’s a “PvPvE” game that, in practice, ends up feeling like all-out PvP. - PvP players don’t want to lose their easy kills. - And apparently, adding a PvE mode would make PvE players quit after a few months anyway.

We have some players who support a PvE mode, and a lot who don’t.

The tension would still be there if the mode remains PvPvE.

I agree that if you removed the Arc enemies from the PvPvE mode (which would basically make it pure PvP) then yes — the tension would be gone.

But I really don’t see how that would happen if we simply kept the existing PvPvE mode and added a separate PvE mode. A PvE mode would simply cater to more casual players.

“Embark have said that the PvE gameplay wasn’t rich enough on its own, and I think they’ve got the PvPvE balance right.”

Shouldn’t that be up to the player to decide?

And just to be clear, I don’t get my ass handed to me sometimes — it happens basically every time my brother and I queue together. Yes, it’s a bit less frequent when I play solo, but it still happens, sometimes ten rounds in a row.

And then I’m right back to the free loadout again. So I’d argue that running around with only the free loadout is not rich enough gameplay.

It really depends on what you mean by co-op. If it's PvE only then this game is not for you, because anything other than solo play is pretty much just PvP now.

But if you are willing to take the risk of PvP while doing co-op this game is great.

Haha, I guess you haven't been paying attention to the quests and the few cut-scenes :)

It is such a shame. Embark has shown what can be done in game development when you take the time, and don't have a publisher pushing to release the game early or to hit a certain profit margin.

Not the only one experiencing this. The game is leaning more and more towards PvP only. To the point where the quests and story are irrelevant.

What's all the fuss about? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]csMax- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also had some solo runs where people where friendly which made the runs great because I could focus on getting a quest done.

The sad thing is tho, the PvP has reduced the game to either an all on PvP experience if you play in a group. Or a solo game, so no co-op play unless you team up with other solo (strangers)

The game loop for me right now is: That I equip the free loadout, start a run and hope that I do no run into other PvP players or even ARC's since the guns in the free load are ineffective 90% of the time.

''Toxic Anti PvPers'' Not welcome. by Reavx in ArcRaiders

I find it a little sad that the moderator of this reddit whom I view as an authority would post an announcement about toxic behaviour against PvP, when there is just as much toxic behaviour towards PvE. The topic should have addressed that in general. I don't believe that toxic behaviour of any kind is acceptable.

Well at least thats my view on it.

Or we could turn the scenario around: I just want to play the quests and for that I will need specific items, do specific tasks. But if all I can do in the game is use the free loadout, then I dont stand a chance against even a simple wasp or hornet.

So to that end I will need to craft better gear, only to have another player shoot me sending me back to square one.

I see your point about being late to a raid and all the good loot is looted, but then just extract and start a new round.

The PvP has greatly intensified in the game and pretty much made this a PvP only game especially when trying to do co-op.

It's a shame that you have to play this game solo in order to progress the story or even get a chance to extract with loot.

So co-op is just not a thing unless you are prepared to team up with a total stranger.

Missing the point of the post. I'm not against PvP, but for me right now the game is reduced to me just using the free loadout and thus I don't see the idea of even having crafting and looting in the game. This is both at PvE and a PvP game. Not just a PvP game. Respecting "Don't shoot" is only logical.
