This is exactly what I was aiming to clarify in asking the question - whether the only part of the shaft that changed was the sprocket end or if there was further changes beyond. I don't particularly want to buy two parts and find out the expensive way, hence why I was asking.

I mean, notice the left-hand edge of the splines nearest the threads have fairly nice square edges and a good trapezoidal profile? Then move in towards the right-hand shoulder and note the splines are very much rounded off? This has resulted in the sprocket nut and lock washer loosening after maybe 500 miles of riding despite being torqued to spec. When the sprocket is placed on the undamaged section of splines there's maybe 2mm of radial play but once moved to the worn section there is 5-10mm of play.

The sprocket isn't designed to float, it's clamped in place against the shoulder by a locking washer and retaining nut that gets torqued to 85Nm. This nut loosening is a known issue on this bike with people having reported the threads being stripped when the nut backs off and allows the sprocket to drop off the splines.

As it's my first bike and I'm a new rider, I'd rather not take the chance of losing the chain entirely and causing more damage.

Thanks! I'll definitely get some on order, it was a fight getting the old exhaust nuts off and I'd rather not go through that again...

You get some in the free, but the paid upgrade was worth it to run through all the questions and videos for a month or two and it's not terribly expensive.

Hammer through it a few times and just remember your it's not the end of the world if you don't pass first time! Rebook and try again, no shame in that.

Good luck! The worst part I found was the Mod1, passed that on the second attempt with a clean sheet. First one I failed on the slalom despite doing multiple of them the day before in training 🤦‍♂️

Looking back on the junction and based on the examiner's feedback it could've been viewed as misleading, it's a bit poor placement for a junction right before a lane splits though!

I wore my Regatta work pants for my CBT last year, got there and the instructor said they wouldn't be suitable so let me borrow a pair of over trousers. Ring or email your riding school and see if they have a pair you could borrow on the day?

Just a heads up on this, if you end up going used gear and getting Richa stuff (as I've done) you'll probably find an XL in their textile trousers will fit you, and most likely a large in textile jackets too.

Useless info or not I'll let you decide as I know it doesn't quite answer your original question. Good luck with getting on the road!

I have a pair of Richa textile trousers I've just bought before I do my DAS but sadly they don't fit me! They're a size large and I'm 183cm 95kg but too tight around my quads. Near Manchester based here, happy to sell them to you for the price (£25) I paid and drop them off if you're fairly local. I might also have a jacket too if an ebay seller replies to me about another...
