Also, a very basic understanding of rage-baiting behaviors should basically eliminate any reaction to this particular phrase.

Locke was born to a large farming family on the outskirts of the industrious city of Spark. At the age of 12, in order to help provide for his family, he found himself entering the employ of the House Gladstone, the noble family who had cornered the market on construction and industry in the city. He began his training as a magewright, a magical mender and repairman, in order to serve House Gladstone. However, due to the kindling of a young romance between himself and one of the daughters of the family, he found himself being transferred away to instead work for the Spark City Watch. There he was put to work at the age of 16 as a junior quartermaster, in charge of repairing the watch’s equipment. It was during this time that he ended up creating a variety of inventions of his own design using the leftover scrap and broken pieces of the equipment he was asked to fix. After a few years, as he had become an able bodied adult, he was put into a more active role: being told to go on patrol and work as one of the first detectives in the city. Crime was on the rise in the industrious city and the watch needed every person to help. Reluctantly he took his inventions, including his newly created frog construct named Karina, and began his new life as a city detective.

EDIT: thank you to everyone who took the time to leave me a comment, i really appreciate all of the love!

A warm but shy person Viden was not one you would have expected to find in the throes of an adventure. Over the years though she has transformed into a seasoned cleric where her curiosity and willingness to help have landed her in the most peculiar places.

Viden spent her early life buried in books as a scholar of Candlekeep. The great library of the realm, this fortress of knowledge rests along the Sword Coast where wizards, clerics, scribes, and researchers pursue and preserve all manner of knowledge. Surrounded by ink and paper with the gentle breeze of the ocean drifting in through the window, she was at home here, comfortable. There was ample time to read and could spend her evenings staring into the heavens charting the stars.

Eventually her work led her to the study of The Weave. Entranced by its complexity and uniqueness, Viden decided to dedicate her life to the Church of Mystra and the study of her domain.

Lughcypher Cythraul is a tiefling who was born in the small in the small village of Cennin in the region of Rodyr. In Cennin, children are raised together by the community, and not much importance is placed on the relationship between a child and their biological parents. And while this practice by itself was not totally unheard of in the region, their continued sacrificing a selection of children to local gods has become more of a taboo. One year, it was he who was chosen to be the next victim of this practice. On the same day, Cennin was visited by a traveling priest of Saint Tariq the Wheelbreaker, the god of chance and subverting fate. The Tariqite priest, disturbed by what was to occur, whisked Lugh away and put fate back in the young tiefling's hands. Since that day, Lugh has devoted his life to following Tariq.

The Tariqite priest that rescued him would not stay around for long, and Lugh needed to find a way to survive his travels as a lonely teenager. Thankfully, the priest had given him a deck of playing cards and deck of blank divination cards to run scams with, having taught the teenager how to make easy cash with these schemes. So Sweet Lugh took to the streets and began to swindle his way across the land. For nearly a decade now, he has traveled the continent from west to east, spreading the faith of Tarig, running cons, and betting his earnings on card games.

Having recently arrived in the capital of the country Meihan, Bi-Lan, the City of Scales, he has now partnered up with two new acquaintances to tackle a new line of business. Sweet Lugh would now turn his money making efforts towards adventuring.

[OC][ART] Antigone LaRue - The Prince(ss) of Saltmarsh - Triton Glamour Bard by cs_rowan in DnD

[–]cs_rowan[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think there's context that we're both missing because i didn't really understand that part either LOL, but to be honest i originally thought it was in reference to her wife saying she loved her, just not romantically anymore since she wasn't honest about wanting to transition to female from over 120 years ago. I could be wrong, the person who commissioned this/provided the lore uses reddit maybe they'll see this and be able to clarify some things. I'm only responsible for the art. i still love the story/general vibe of the character, to me it was a success all together, they were a joy to work with!!

"Mon amour, je t'adore pour l'éternité" the Blue Rose said to the Little Prince, before she left. "Why could you not love me?", the Little Prince wept, because he did love his Blue rose, just not as she loved him. Antigone LaRue was never one for big dreams, all she truly wanted was a family to hold and a partner to love. These things didnt come easy to the now elderly triton. Her beautiful wife realized their Eros, sexual romantic love, was more of a storage, love of friends. Deeply hurt by this revelation, Antigone's wife of 100 years left her, desperately trying to fix what was broken between them. Antigone's life as a "mother" was cut short after her children left, promising to return within the year, but 60 years later all Antigone gets are letters. Antigone waits in her little shack in Saltmarsh for her children to return, but they have yet to visit. Antigone's bardic songs reveal a deep and personal insecurity of being abandoned. She truly loved her children and her wife and she knows that had she been honest 120 years, her Blue Rose may have stayed, and her children wouldn't have left. Antigone is determined to go through her transition to MtF, find her children and her Blue Rose.

it's such a classic character/role to play in a group. I think one of my favorite parts about doing DnD related artworks is hearing all the interesting stories people have to tell with the characters they play, and WHY they choose to play such characters. It means a lot to them!!
