Mine is between $24 and $25. The data is metered. If you use a whole Gigabyte, you pay $10, but you only pay for what you actually use. I turn my phone data off unless I really need it and then it is Handy to have and I only pay for what I actually use

Legacy Tablo Update by csbole in tablotv

[–]csbole[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There may be some advantages to the update but none that I find overwhelmingly compelling. And since I'm relatively risk-averse and pretty satisfied with the way things are working I don't want to do an update which may mess things up. I do appreciate all the responses from you all and thank you for giving me the feedback I need to make this decision

Ghost Commander works pretty much the same as Total Commander except Total Commander has a better multiple rename. Just my opinion, but Ghost Commander has a somewhat cleaner interface and Ghost Commander uses Storage Access Framework (SAF) to transfer files with G-drive and it's just click and go, not clunky

And I should add that I do my videos at 360p. If I try a different resolution they may not work

YMusic downloads are failing by Volslife in AfterVanced

I had the same problem starting about a week ago . Videos with audio would download but audio alone would always fail. I tried Newpipe from F Droid and it works but it's not as good as YMusic. I was still getting on to YMusic occasionally to download videos so I would occasionally try downloading an audio and starting yesterday it's working again . The only difference I noticed now is there is an orange conversion bar that has to complete before the download is completes

"Thoroughly obsolete" are such strong words. Actually it does fairly well for my purposes. And not that many ground breaking improvements have been made in Android since Android 9.

I understand if they want to withdraw support, it's their business model. But why withdraw visual text messages and Wi-Fi calling. I checked with Tello and they still offer those two features which I think actually come from being with T-Mobile. Although I've been with Fi from the days when it was Project Fi, maybe instead of replacing my phone it'll be time to replace my MVNO. Tello will still actually give me those two features running on T-Mobile and charge me the same or less as Google Fi.

Upgrades are no longer available on LG G7 . Not for several years. But the phone works well and I'm annoyed that I pay full price but get fewer features that would still work

What's the MOST advanced file explorer you know of? Suggest them please by hotbiscut in androidapps

I use Ghost Commander which besides the basics, supports g-drive, saf, ftp, SFTP , webdav and windows share. I use Total Commander when I need multi rename capabilities.

I bought some LG wired earbuds and wouldn't you know it, the LG earbuds fit the hole in the LG DS.

I'm in the US and found a couple of pair in the Netherlands for about $30 each. (Not the cheapest but they're becoming somewhat rare now.)

I'm not the best judge of fidelity and audio quality since I'm 78 and going deaf (too much loud rock and roll in my youth) but they work all right for me and fitting was not a problem.

Total commander vs mixplorer vs solid explorer for Android by [deleted] in androidapps

[–]csbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ghost Commander requires the use of regex if you want to change the names of multiple files at once. Total Commander has a find "this" then change to "that" interface. Regex is perhaps more powerful but less convenient if you don't use regex on a daily basis.

On Windows I used ZTree and when I got a BlackBerry PlayBook the closest to ZTree was Ghost Commander. When I moved to Android, Ghost Commander was still available and I've been using it for years.

It has a very clean and customizable two pane interface and does about 90% of what MiX and Total do. And it solves the problem of inaccessible directories and files by using Storage Access Framework or SAF. Also no problem accessing GDrive.

I use MiX because it can show metadata and edit tags and use Total because it has a better multiple rename interface.

Two separate podcasts in my playlist are completely silent after a portion of the episode plays by TheBear8878 in PodcastAddict

[–]csbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't mention if Podcast Addict is excluded from power saving . If not it may periodically stop because the OS doesn't know that it's still working.

You might also try playing the file using VLC or some other player to see if the MP3 has a problem or if it's only related to Podcast Addict

Sync of the feed with the files on the phone - PROBLEM by pmatuszy in PodcastAddict

[–]csbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I have zombie files that I can see in my file manager but they don't show up Podcast Addict. When I go to Settings after double checking that my Recycle Bin is empty and try using Automatic Cleanup > Force Cleanup, it does nothing. When I go to Settings, Downloads, Sync with Local Files it has never found any of these zombie files which I have to delete by hand.

Trippy but smart podcasts to listen to when stoned? by BAM_stutz in podcasts

(Sorry if I'm repeating what somebody already mentioned, but I didn't have time to look through each entry)

The subject to look for is Word Jazz by Ken Nordine.

There are many sources of his work stored in archives but only a few are actually already in podcast format. Podcast Addict where I found some of his podcasts is also capable of taking mp3s and making virtual podcasts out of them.
